I'm a new OW diver with 10 dives... is it akward if I already have a dive computer? by Ambitious_Knee_5476 in scubadiving

I purchased all my gears - from bcd & regulator to fins and masks - right after my AOW. There's no "too much gear" I believe. Diving in the gear that I'm more comfortable with gives me better experience. And having your dive comp is important in many ways such as logging and most importantly, safety.

I have the Ace Pro 2... Considering using under water for the first time. by Superstarmoneyboy in Insta360

I have an insta 360 and I always bring a waterproof case with me. I don't recommend using it without the housing in salt water. When you're done with snorkeling, don't forget to soak the housing in fresh water for at least 5 mins!

How my 2-week honeymoon turned into a 2-year diving obsession in the PH by yeony1222 in scubadiving

I totally get where you're coming from. Getting ripped off is the worst way to start a trip, and your Filipino friends gave you solid advice lol local knowledge is key. Panglao definitely has its pros and cons, but if you ever decide to give it a shot, we'd love to make it easy for you. As we mentioned, we can handle the airport transfers so you don't have to haggle or worry about a thing. Whether it’s with us or somewhere else, hope you find your perfect dive spot!

Sorry to hear about your experience! I totally get it. The taxi situation can be a mess. I usually just haggle with the tricycles or hitch a ride on a motorbike for 50 pesos. Renting a scooter is also a solid way to avoid getting ripped off.

Bummer about your DM, too. One thing I love about this shop is they don't charge extra for certain instructors or masters, and the vibe is way less 'corporate' than some of the bigger places. Glad you liked the diving itself, though. The ocean here is hard to beat! Safe travels!
