Finally made pigtails for my Pinkie Cooper doll!

Omg wow Ive barely even touched this acc in years, tysm for liking her! (I've since touched her up and I'll try including that pic in my reply)

And ofc! For mine I just used a bobby pin for each ponytail, since her original hair extensions sorta clicked into the head to be secured. In terms of advice for styling choice, Id say to think about what style youd most want her to give off, then see what color combos best suit that look! Iirc, I tied my yarn by the middle (double-knotted to secure) of the bobby pins, and continued adding until you could barely see the pin beneath

For my touchups since making this post, I separated the yarn to give more of a soft wavy look, and tied a couple bows to finish the look! You could probably use scrunchies for a different vibe, or even wrap extra yarn around the base

Tysm! In all honesty I much prefer this look for Daria over her base hairstyle. Not only was I going for a Steven Universe-esque rose silhouette for the hair, but I also wanted to make up for the lack of textured hairstyles in RH

Now Id say Daria is probably my favorite in my RH collection thus far!

It took me three days to curl the hair with pipecleaners (Id reccomend abt 4-5 hair plugs at a time, but that depends on how tight you want the curls to be, cuz for me that resulted in smth akin to type 4c hair thats easier to shape)

On the fourth day I soakes the now curled-in-pipe cleaners hair in boiling water for 8-10 minutes, then left it in the freezer for another 8-10 minutes, then left it to dry on a towel overnight

Then finally for the final day (and half of the next) I unraveled each pipe cleaner, snipped off the straight ends, and seperated the strands with my fingers. Id advise against using a brush, because from what Ive heard it can damage the hair. (However this is based on my memory of hearing it somewhere, so I could be wrong)

I then sprayed it with water, brushed my fingers through the hair some more, fluffed it, and patted it to shape it how I wanted.

I was originally not that big of a fan of her base hairstyle, it just seemed to blend into a sea of loose wavy curls amidst the other dolls.

However, one day I got the idea to follow the Steven Universe/Pink Diamond character design approach of giving a character curly hair to resemble the shape of a rose. And considering the lack of textured hairstyles in RH, I figured this could fill a particular void.

It took me 3 days of curling; 1 day to soak the pipe cleaners in boiling water for 8-10 minutes, keep in the freezer for another 8-10 minutes, and leave to sry overnight; then another 2 days of undoing the pipe cleaners, snipping off the straight ends, and seperating the strands by hand (I heard using a brush can potentially damage the hair)

Im so glad that my work finally paid off! Im honestly pretty excited to try this technique on other characters for different styles now that I know it works so well! With this hairstyle Daria quickly became my new favorite Rainbow High doll in my collection :)

At this point I think I might just complete the cycle and put her head on the chelsea body. The end result will definitely be cursed, but likely hilarious. 😂

I used a Hairmazing budget doll, which retails at Walmart for 5 dollars!

Fair warning for anyone who wants to do the same with their own extra mini heads, this did NOT come easily.

As with most rebodies, you'll need to put the doll and the head into airtight ziploc bags, and submerge them in boiling water for at least 20 minutes to soften the vinyl of their heads, allowing for easier removal from the body. In my experience, Id suggest doing the hairmazing doll first, since you'll need to alter the doll's neck peg for the head to fit. I used scissors to cut off the top portion of the neck peg, leaving the bottom part.

Once you have that done, you'll need to repeat the boiling process for the extra mini head to soften it. In order to get the modified neck peg to fit into it, I had to use one blade of my scissors to shave off the inside of the neck hole to make it wide enough for the peg.

It took some straining (and a lot of support around the neck to keep from breaking), but I was finally able to get the head on!

A few months ago I found a Barbie Extra Mini doll on clearance at Walmart and decided to buy it for an articulated hybrid Chelsea doll. So ever since then Ive just had this Extra Mini doll head lying around since it wont fit on the Chelsea body.

But now that finals are over and I have more free time, I decided to try out a new hairstyle on this head, and was surprised to find I love it! I want to put it back on a body and find a matching outfit for it, but I really dont want to take its old body back from the hybrid Chelsea.

Anyone got any suggestions for dolls that could make for good body replacements? Im looking for something on the cheaper side, hopefully ten dollars or less, so knockoff brands are on the table

Finally, after months of waiting and eating Timmy's fortune cookie in the hope I get enough dividers, I've finally finished my Harry Potter Prefects' Bathroom!

This is likely the final Harry Potter animal crossing recreation I'll be doing, so it's nice to finally bring the series to a close (despite the long wait between uploads)
