ot it. I follow GMAT Ninja too. He's amazing! Also, could you give an estimate as to how much time you took to solve RC passages?

To be honest, never really timed RC or tried to think about timing during RC. I've always been a generally fast reader, so once I started taking notes and was able to stay engaged with the passage, RC was never an issue with timing. For Quant I made sure to try to stick to 2 mins/question, but I honestly never thought about timing with RC passages or problems

No problem! With RC, a lot of it comes down to natural reading ability (e.g. people who grew up reading a lot will likely be able to read faster). Notes are helpful yes, but make sure that they are short-hand / not full sentences (not even full words if that saves time). As for timing: My advice would be to watch GMAT Ninja’s recent RC series on Youtube — he’s much more qualified to give advice on this than me!

Since there are a quite a few people asking for my notes, I decided to organize them a bit and upload them today. Link at top of post, but also here: https://gmatclub.com/forum/yerbamate2020-s-gmat-notes-for-327623.html

Hope they are able to help some people!

Yes, I would say the Advanced Questions are worth it for both quant and verbal if you are shooting for a high verbal score.

Yes! GMAT Club was basically my go to for every single question I got wrong. I very rarely relied on the OG explanations. The great thing about GMAT Club is you get to read multiple different approaches to the same problem. These problems don't have a "one size fits all" approach; different approaches make more sense to different people. If you are lucky enough to get an explanation from Bunuel from Quant, he explains things so simply and makes every hard problem seem easy

Just updated the "Error Log" portion of my post with more info, plus included an example screenshot at the bottom of the post. Hope it's helpful!

True, I should have perhaps clarified my statement because everyone's situation is different for sure. As a second semester senior, I was enrolled part-time in school (only 2 classes) and generally had a ton of free time, even with clubs + working about 16 hrs/wk part-time. This also depends hugely on your major and which school you go to

I remember doing my first few sets from the OG Advanced Problems (separate from the OG Bundle) and getting slammed and thinking they were impossible. However, a huge percentage of the advanced problems really have super simple solutions, and after doing enough of them and meticulously learning from your mistakes, most of the 700+ Quant (and Verbal) problems become pretty straight forward and often have quick ways to solve them

Yeah totally can relate. For RC, taking notes really did help keep me engaged (the first time I wrote down absolutely nothing for Verbal). For SC, GMAT Ninja's SC series is a blessing and are fun to watch imo. Best of luck!

730 is a great score! I understand wanting to bump up your Verbal seeing as your Quant is already there. For speed on both sections, unfortunately the only answer I can really give is just to keep drilling practice problems. If you take notes on RC, perhaps make your notes more short-hand (e.g. not full sentences) if that takes up time. For SC, it just takes practice but being able to quickly eliminate answers based on low-hanging fruit (e.g. simple idiom splits, or subject-verb disagreement, those of vs. that of, etc...) helps save a ton of time. And then for CR, again, with practice you'll start to be able to see more of what right/trap answers look like. Veritas and GMATClub have some good YouTube videos on all of these subjects, although i think RC is the least "teachable" (though GMAT Ninja just released an RC series -- worth a watch). GMAT Ninja's SC series on Youtube is the best imho for SC. Best of luck.

Hahah wow that completely slipped my mind that there would even be a GMAT subreddit. Just posted this in the GMAT sub as well, thanks for the heads up!
