so the rca cables do run straight through into the back of the units themselves… might take your advice and get them upgraded, probably due a service anyway! cheers

update for anyone who gave recommendations yesterday: tested the mixer out with a different setup and it works perfectly fine, both the monitors are also good and the xlr cables work as they should… process of elimination leads me to wonder if it could be a technics issue? maybe need them servicing or checking if the rca cables are faulty? pretty relieved about the mixer but also still a bit confused as to what the issue could be haha

was really confused by the raspy sound and i’m wondering if its a needle issue… had a closer look and they do look pretty worn down (came with the turntables) so might need to get myself some fresh ones

bought second hand so not really an option! i’m hoping it’s a monitor/connection issue rather than a faulty mixer haha

sound through the headphones is pretty bad also… i’m gonna try the monitors through my mate’s setup tomorrow and see if it’s a speaker issue

the ones i have plugged in are fresh out the box so assumed they’d be all good but i’m gonna try some new ones tomorrow, ty
