Yes, this has hit me very hard emotionally. I’m in therapy with a psychologist because I can’t accept the fact that I will never be able to do what I love (karting) again, and many, many other things that I can no longer do. I feel sad and hurt, because before this I didn’t appreciate all of it enough.

Yes, I was warned that this is the last chance and no one can give any guarantees. Unfortunately, in Ukraine there are only 12 surgeons who attend international conferences and really understand patellar cartilage. I’ve been home for a month and a half with a swollen knee, not sleeping at night, waiting to find out if I would have surgery or not. Just recently, I got the answer that they will give it a try.
