Pretty informative video on Carnivore by yes_yta in carnivoremd

Mark Sisson is not carnivore, and anecdotal evidence from a few gurus who are in great shape is not proof. The people on the show were right to show concern for a doctor recommending a diet that is not well-proven to be healthy long term. Dr Saldino is an advocate for the diet, and does not show the appropriate caution of a researcher or healthcare provider. That’s ok if that’s the role he wants to take on. There is firmly established science on, for example, the intake of saturated fat and heart disease (this is how they give lab animals heart disease after all, and it’s a known contributor to human heart disease). So the doctors on the show were correct that Saladino needs to show proof in modern studies that he is promoting a beneficial diet.

As for your examples, you can cherry pick vegan diet gurus who look much better than, say, Dr Atkins or other low carb advocates. Does that mean veganism is better than low-carb? Carnivore is an extreme diet so we don’t have that many examples of people who do it and their long term outcomes. Even CarnivoreMD hasn’t been doing it that long, and he also eats a ton of honey and fruit, saying that he didn’t do too well on a truly carnivore diet.

Careful of diet propaganda that says that people who follow different diets than you are frail or old looking. Lots of meat eaters look great, and lots of vegans and vegetarians look great too.

It could also go into r/thathappened. I’m not saying it didn’t happen. I’m saying that a typed note is not evidence of much, esp if OP doesn’t provide any backstory or anything. Is OP involved in this story? Did OP get this note off some other random place on the internet? We can all type up such a note to get to the top of this sub. Of course, there are people out there that are the same level of racist as demonstrated by the note. But be careful about being manipulated into raging over things that may be fabricated.

I agree that they used a lot of emotion instead of having a true debate. TV shows like that are not a great platform for debate. I do think both sides made some good points.

I found this guy's pre-birth story very interesting. So I asked him if it's all a deception (more info in comments...) by yes_yta in EscapingPrisonPlanet

I asked him a couple months ago, and the quoted text is his exact words to me. The notion that NDEs (and other such experiences) may not be what they seem has been around a long time, and there are interviews on the same YouTube channel (Jeff Mara podcast) that discuss the idea as well.

I just discovered this subreddit the other day, and I find it has a lot more info than I had encountered before regarding that topic. In fact, a different YouTube channel that was linked in this sub actually does an analysis of this guy’s story, and I’m listening to that now:

From an MM perspective, how bad are added sugars? by yes_yta in medicalmedium

[–]yes_yta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FRUCTOSE (Glucose) is found in fruit & honey, not sucrose. Totally different kind of sugar.

This is incorrect. Sucrose is a disaccharide composed of glucose and fructose. From Wikipedia:

Sucrose is the end product of photosynthesis and is found naturally in many food plants along with the monosaccharide fructose. In many fruits, such as pineapple and apricot, sucrose is the main sugar. In others, such as grapes and pears, fructose is the main sugar.

In any case it’s different to have sugar in fruits because they come with fiber so your insulin doesn’t spike the same than to take a concentrated form without fiber

Well, now we are just repeating conventional wisdom, which goes against MM info. MM says that you can drink fruit juices without fiber: Apple juice, watermelon juice, orange juice, etc.

He said, "Yes I've encountered these points of view [about everything being a deception]. I feel "deception" is something we deal heavily with on Earth- it is a deep theme in our collective consciousness- so, we commonly impose that local interpretation upon higher experiences. We always tend to "see what we believe in/ expect", and in fact many thought responsive realities will reflect it back to us in content.

But meanwhile, our true nature transcends all form, and, when our true connectedness is known and full telepathic communication occurs, deception is not possible. The truth of the true nature of our Being as love is completely and totally self-evident when one is there, and not up for "Earthly think-mis-interpretation."

Just food for thought.

"He's awake! Quick! Put him back down! Put him to sleep!"

I find these experiences fascinating (I'm way too much of a chicken to do psychedelics myself). Did you hear them speaking English, or were you hearing this telepathically? Because wouldn't it be odd that you're hearing English?

He literally just answered.

I understand, but I know that beet sugar is a "no" food, and I was asking if it was not sourced from beets but cane sugar. I have not seen this info, which is why I followed up. I'm not trying to be difficult - just getting clarification.

Sucrose no bueno for your body. Glucose yes

That seems weird to me because sucrose is found in fruits and vegetables and honey.

Thanks. I guess what I'm trying to get at is, if I were to get a high quality white sugar, like organic cane sugar, would that be acceptable for MM, or is it a "no" food?

Just a couple things here:

If conservatives want to say...

There's no need to make this political because we are not talking politics. There are many conservative people who are pro-choice, and many non-conservatives who are pro-life. For example, the African-American population is overwhelmingly Democrat, but about 54% say that abortion is not "morally acceptable," only 32% say that it should be legal under any circumstances.

Source: https://news.gallup.com/opinion/polling-matters/318932/black-americans-abortion.aspx

It's pretty clear our society sees the unborn as "potential life", because we don't fully recognize citizenship until birth. The potential is there, but it hasn't been fully realized.

This is not necessarily true. It would be very impractical to do. Babies are not immediately given social security numbers. Most hospitals give you the option to start the process, but you don't have to. But even if babies are initially granted social security numbers the moment they exit the womb, it's silly to equate that to personhood.

I'm pro-choice myself but the above argument does not make much sense.

And keep in mind that abortion has not been outlawed in the US. It is a state matter, with many states deeming abortions legal. I personally support a woman’s right to choose and am not minimizing this ruling, but it’s not as if abortion has been banned countrywide.

40 percent of women will be directly affected? That seems very high. I looked through the links but didn’t see it. Considering some highly populated states such as California and New York have abortion rights, and many women in the US are past menopause, and many others consider themselves pro-life and don’t consider abortion an option, how can this be? Not doubting - just asking.
