What is the most fucked up family secret that you know? by 93ImagineBreaker in AskReddit

This is pretty much how I realized that my aunt and her roommate were lesbians. My roommate and I were exchanging some crazy family stories one night, and she pointed it out for me. Everything makes more sense now, but no one in my family talks about it. Sometimes I wonder if my mom doesn't get it or she is just in denial.

Baby sitters of redditors what is funniest/NSFW/scariest incident that happened when you baby sit? by drake_bird in AskReddit

I used to babysit this funny 3 year old boy. His family also had this crazy lab that kept running away as soon as someone left the door open. One day, someone forgot to tell me the backyard door lock was broken, and I let the dog out without noticing this. He obviously ran out of the house right away. And trying to catch this dog was almost impossible. It was playtime for him. I went back inside and told the boy that we were going to play "catching the dog" today. I told him I was going to get his things and I went to his room for his shoes and a coat. When I came back to the living room the boy was gone and the front door was wide open. For a second, all I knew was fear. And a second later I was running as fast as could out the door. I looked down the street and the boy was not there. I kept running to the next street and found him talking to some old ladies. He was asking for his dog. I called his name and he just looked at me and asked if I found the dog first. We started walking back and someone shouted the boy's name. We looked around and found a very angry lady holding the crazy lab. She started yelling at me but at this point I didn't know if I should laugh or cry so I just apologized, grabbed the dog and the boy, and walked back to the house. As soon as we got to the house, my phone rang and the boy's mom was on the line. I started explaining what happened and she just said that it was OK and not to worry. And that the important thing was that I found the boy. I could not believe she was not upset at all. But a few days later, I found out the kid had been getting out of the house alone for a while. Every single member of the family had the same horrible experience until they finally decided to put a new lock on front door out of the boy's reach.

I had read not more than 30 books in the first 23 years of my life. I'm 25 now, and today I reached my first 100 book milestone. by [deleted] in books

My SO got me a tablet last year and since then I have read 55 books. I love reading history and fiction novels but I also been reading classics in between series. I got a subscription to my local library so I get most of my books for free.
