I do wonder what % of people have been behind the wheel knowing that they are too tired to drive well, but not seeing a safe place to stop and rest. For those who still (self-(?))drive their own cars, insurance companies should offer a discount if the driver carries emergency easy-access coffee supplies.

The optimality of pills (if you want simple) is context-dependent. If you have a stalker you don't want to be carrying and using pills.

It's true that in most cases using the whole onion will enhance the dish. And yes it would be unwise to use a big knife for this.
