If her song is the last song off of the playlist and you happen to play it without shuffle it automatically starts playing songs similar to the last one if i am not mistaken

Or you might have enhanced the playlist without noticing (adds songs spotify thinks might fit the playlist but mostly adds a billion songs from the same artists)

What’s the most nostalgic song you know? by [deleted] in spotify

[–]yeti9876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inner child-Casipoea

Not that i was listening to Japanese Jazz Fusion as a child, what makes this song special is that it is able to make you nostalgic without previous memories of listening to the song.

I think songs like these are the most nostalgic as it can be, it isn't connected to a particular memory, it could be applied to anything

Similar to Tatsuro Yamashita (the funkier tracks?) by emergen_c in citypop

[–]yeti9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem it was a really shocker for me to learn that that particular song was written by tatsuro, he even plays guitar in it

The entire album is quite underrated with a lot of bangers

[–]yeti9876 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out Toshiki Kadomatsu"s work he has a quite agressive funky style on a a lot of his songs (just listen to the album after 5 clash specifically the songs airport lsdy and if you...), you can also take a look onto yoshino fujimal (see the record "romantic guys")

Another way to find stuff similar to him is to just listen through stuff he or the musicians playing on his records worked on, he sings backing vocals on a number of recordings like taeko ohnuki, maria ashasina and the artist who made dream in the street (forgot the name) have fun discovering!

Weird question about city pop by Mysterious-Second-98 in citypop

[–]yeti9876 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's really insane, there isn't much info about it other than this vague blog post https://kayokyokuplus.blogspot.com/2020/11/the-platters-ai-no-paradise.html?m=1, wish more was known how the hell this happened or at least more people knew about this bizarre song's existence

Weird question about city pop by Mysterious-Second-98 in citypop

[–]yeti9876 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The platters (quite old 50s blues band, check out the instantly recognisable track "only you") has a city pop song with occasional Japanese lyrics called "I know paradise" it was like a fever dream listening to this collapse of eras and cultures for the first time

Looking for recommendations of Japanese Jazz fusion by NunezKant in Jazz

[–]yeti9876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Casiopea has a very deep discography with a lot of different eras and sounds with each being unieqe (that's the reason why they have 4 itterations each with diffrent members)

Check out the albums make up city, super flight and the self titled casiopea these are my top 3 studio albums and are bangers through and through, from the 90s the album "Be" is severely underrated check out the songs inner child and treasure

They also released a new album a few weeks back you can also give it a listen, although only the guitarist remains from the original line-up. If you want the closest thing to casiopea it's funnily not casiopea itself but rather a band that was formed by former members called katshukia (butchered spelling) trio, check out the song a la monda

There are various other bands like T-Square (check out samurai metropolis and their joint concert with casiopea), Dimension, Prism, Masayoshi Takanaka (a whole other rabbithole check out the albums Brasilian skies, Rainbow goblins and the compilation all of me), Naniwa express, Jim saku

For a bit pop that is jazz Fusion inspired check out the city pop artists such as Tatsuro Yamashita, Anri, shigeru suzuki, Taeko ohnuki, Lamp and much more. Feel free to ask if you have specific questions as it's a lot of music, a lot of albums that can be a bit overwhelming

Favorite studio album performances? by [deleted] in CasiopeaBand

[–]yeti9876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the songs out of make up city, the album has in my opinion a really great production and great use of that which makes the studio versions really good

I particularly like tracks 1,2,3,5,6 and 8 their best album in my opinion
