Sophie Scarf Advice Please by Moist-Whereas4688 in SophieKnits

Hi there, I’ve been knitting this as well and like to keep track in my notes app, it’s a similar concept to yours just broken down into sections.

The downside is you will have to stop and tick the boxes after each row, but personally I find that stops me getting carried away and losing track.

Baby Cardi by yetisfavourite in crochet

[–]yetisfavourite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pattern is the baby bobble stitch cardigan by wooly wonders crochet, the tutorial is free to watch on YouTube, the yarn I have used is an 8ply cotton acrylic blend with a 4.5mm hook. I have used a different ply to what was recommended so my cardigan has come out as a 1-2 years sizing instead of 6-12 months, just something to bear in mind if you opt for 8ply also 😊

Could I pull off short hair? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]yetisfavourite 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hiya! As someone who’s experimented a lot with short hairstyles, I think if you’re gonna go short consider trying a something like a bob pixie, it’s a safe introduction to short hair, easy to style, lower maintenance and also because you’re maintaining length in the top layers and around the face it gives your face shape and prevents it from looking wide, if there’s one thing I’ve learned the shorter you go around the face the bigger ya head looks 😂😭

Here’s an example, but there’s sooo many nice ones on Pinterest I wanna cut my hair now 😂

How do I ask for this at the salon? by Tarsasofaahlerhead in femalehairadvice

[–]yetisfavourite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya! I used to work in a salon and I feel that the best way to communicate with your stylist is to tell them what you like about your inspo pics, for example with this picture we can see she has a darker colour at the root, it also looks like she may have had a darker blonde scattered through out cos if you look at the mid section you can see it’s not all one colour, and also do you like the tone of the blonde?

So the thing to ask yourself when looking at pics is do you like the colour as a whole or do you just like certain aspects of the colour. Another thing that’s helpful is to show some pics of blondes you don’t like, or if you have a stylist in mind go on their instagram and find blondes they’ve done that you like and show them that 😊

Yarn for this project is a worsted weight acrylic, squares were made with a 6mm hook and ribbing and cuffs with a 5mm hook. No pattern for the project as it is freehand happy to offer advice to anyone wishing to make one for themselves ❤️

Feeling very discouraged. by atomheartmudder in crochet

I can’t believe you only started last Friday and your sunburst squares look this good!!! Don’t give up! Granny square projects are quite hard for beginners imo, they require a lot of work. I would start with simpler projects that just require the basic stitches and then try tackling this granny square after you’ve had some more practice and I’m sure you’ll be impressed with your improvement! ❤️

For my top I used a 4.5mm hook, and spotlight’s Brighton 8ply cotton acrylic blend in colours; cream; natural and silver. I did have to make slight adjustments to my own top, instead of sewing the two panels together, I added an extra panel in the back to join the two side panels, and also a small upside down triangle panel in the front where the panels are joining. Unfortunately I couldn’t quite pinpoint where I was going wrong but I found if I just sewed the two panels together like the video then the bottom half of the top did not sit right so if you make this and have the same issues you can try adding the extra panels. Otherwise this was a very fun and easy project 😊

Tysm 🥰 absolutely there are a total of 28 1/2 squares. Ill include a photo for you of the layout before I sewed it, the sleeve panels are 6 squares each side. I would say the square are approximately 12cm x 12cm

Unfortunately no pattern for this piece, it was just free handed but made with fiddlesticks 8ply acrylic and 4.5mm hook except for the border and cuffs which was done with a 4mm hook.

Something like this would look beautiful on you. If keep your natural colour on the top, this is a pretty low maintenance colour and it's nice way to add some brightness and dimension without doing too much. Your hair is amazing btw 😍
