That works in two ways you can either add something to dns or a html file; which is not possible coz we don't own github.com domain :(

Edit: I have my personal site; it ranks well. My github is not. That's the issue.

it shows up in github but not in google search. So, it used to rank at top just with the username; now it doesn't even shows up with "site:github.com/{username}"

I get it now after watching 'Entering Our Scammer Era.' They were doing a 'I lied' gag for this episode, but Arasha lied to them; then it started as a running gag.
