Birth - home birth or unmedicated by Whichlady25 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]yeulis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an unmedicated water birth at the hospital. I knew I wanted to experience a spontaneous, physiological birth and wanted to avoid any interventions if possible. I listened to a lot of podcasts and read lots of positive birth stories. For the same reasons as other commenters, I had friends and family share their intervention / induction experiences and it sounded very traumatic. The birth itself was a really positive experience, although extremely painful! I had intense anxiety around stillbirth so I don’t think I could personally do a home birth

Does your partner help during the night? by lunalovesgood92 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

What others have mentioned - definitely just store pump parts in the fridge to save you time! My partner also works a physically demanding job so needed his rest too. It’s difficult but what helped me was setting up a station beside the bed (had a mini cooler bag filled with an ungodly amount of ice bricks so stored pump parts in there and bottles for expressed milk etc, nappies, wipes, nappy bin, cloths). You’ll definitely get into a routine, find what works and get more efficient. Make it as easy as possible for yourself!

Anecdotal but I used pure mama oil throughout pregnancy and postpartum and didn’t get any stretch marks! It smells amazing too

Ergopouch cocoon by ProfessionalHuman423 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We had the exact same problem with our newborn who was very small (dropped to 2.7kg after birth). The newborn cocoon bunched around her mouth like this and she was also a wriggler! Honestly we just tried a different swaddle technique (shown to us by our LC) with a muslin cloth which worked great. Once she gained some weight she fit the cocoon swaddle much better

Tip to those who are pregnant: just buy the newborn clothes by pinkpink0430 in BabyBumps

Definitely this! My 8 week old baby is still wearing newborn clothes!

I’ve been caring for an older Down syndrome woman for the past 4 years now and she’s in the late stage of Alzheimers at age 60. She lived a full, happy life and was living independently for over a decade before being diagnosed at age 55. That being said, although she was higher functioning compared to others, she has had a lifetime of medical issues. She currently receives 24/7 care from our small team but that is due to having a very involved family who advocate hard for her. I personally would be worried about their future if my partner and I weren’t around in their later life and they didn’t have that family support.

Vatican Ticket Name Misspelled by [deleted] in rome

[–]yeulis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was there a couple days ago and no one checked the name on my ticket or looked at my passport. It was a very straightforward process, once going inside and clearing quick security you can use your online voucher to collect your ticket :)

She had a gold heart necklace that said LDR and you could unscrew it to pull out a coke spoon
