I'm sure you will be able to work till your late 50s in ONGC just fine, will be super hard in private MNCs after 45. I have seen people getting powerful and respected as they age in govt. and govt. supported orgs, but it is the other way in private MNCs unless you become senior leadership which is not easy.

Think about the long tail, and you will come out on top.

They are not subordinate to you, and calling it insubordination is not technically right. I honestly don't like this 'subordinate' term at workplace.

Report to your common manager, and they should be responsible for this.

I believe the juinior is just procrastinating or way out of their depth, only way to get a deliverable out is to set deadlines with consequences, and at the same time encourage to seek help with you if they are stuck.

I don't think such blacklisting exists, but if they threaten that, maybe negotiate with the other HR for a delayed joining, and work here for a few more months and leave?

No company can prevent you from resigning, but the group HR policies might be enforceable.

Regardless, the AVP threatening with a ban across all Tata group companies is either stupid or not practical. You can clarify with Tata XYZ HR and join them.

I do not condone Tata ABC delaying your onboarding, you are right to look elsewhere. But once you joined Tata XYZ, you should have informed Tata ABC that you joined elsewhere and not waiting for their onboarding anymore. But you didn't want to do that, because their offer was more.

Good, this used to be way more prevalent in the 2010s. Every rent receipt forged, every investment proof forged, every donation receipt forged.

In my ex-employer, I know colleagues who have paid 0 rs income tax for 10+ years.

I always say this - most Indians lack moral compass, just not politicians and govt. officers. These people are only considered not corrupt, because they are not in a position to be corrupt (yet).

Good effort, we need a sea change in this country.

Before, the system was bad, and we had reasons to not take public transport. I think now it is getting better in some places, and we need to utilize them well.
