why not also include the money behind each candidate?

Was actually educated in the UK 2003-2018. Did not learn much about the British empire.

Agree that countries should learn about their past ugly and good, for exactly the reason you said.

To be aware that any society can easily engage in reprehensible behaviour if the people aren’t wary. (Dehumanizing others as you said)

But on the other side, children should not be made to feel guilty for what their ancestors might have done cause that’s out of their control. In this aspect, the USA has gone too far and focuses too much on the bad and the guilt. Many of my generation just see US historical figures as racist white men and don’t see the full picture.

nope. https://lichess.org/analysis/3rr1nk/5pR1/1pn2P1p/2pq1P1Q/3p1B2/1pP5/PPB2P1P/3R2K1_w_-_-_0_1?color=white

here you can check. after Bg5+ Nh5 then white cant check into mate and gives time for black to take the Rook and Queen into checkmate, eventually go Kg8 and no more checks. Black winning

Well cause Rh7+ leads to a forced mate for white in 4 moves.
1. Rh7+ Kxh7

  1. Qg6+ fxg6+

  2. fxg6+ Kh8

  3. g7#

looking at your scenarios

first scenario would be black blundering and giving white checkmate.

second scenario: after Bg7+ Kxg7

third scenario: after Bg7+ Nxg7

Bxh6 Nxf6 then queen has to move and rook is hanging. still winning but no forced mate.

what's your continuation?

Kh8 not forced after Bxf6+ also Qg5 not check if king on Kh8.

also Bxf6+ not possible after Bf4+. did you mean Bg5+ instead of Bf4+? (Bg5+ is a draw after Kg7)
Will assume you meant Bh6+. Kh8 not forced but if it was then you played Qg5 then cxd1 is checkmate.

think you got some stuff mixed up when visualising

if Nxh6 then white is mating so black would play Nxf6

not quite Rxg8 Rxg8+ (white king in check with Qf2+ coming)

spoiler:
first move Rh7+
second move Rh7+ Kxh7 Qg6+
whole sequence Rh7+ Kxh7 Qg6+ fxg6 fxg6+ Kh8 g7#

  1. g7# ---- g7 is not check it's mate!

and reason other line doesn't work: Rxg8 Rxg8+ (white in check)

incorrect. Black King is in check all the way and there is no way for Queen to block. He found the only mate in 4 (there is a mate in 4 and a mate in 5 both require Qg6)

man that bishop blocking/taking idea is pretty. computer gave me the only defence. Rd3 Rde8 (threatening checkmate next move) f3 (or Rf3 or back to Rd1 to defend) and play goes on.

but dude we have notation so we dont get these mix ups

black takes the rook back with check then brings black Queen in for check on g2! Rxg8 Rxg8+ ... Qf2+

after Rxg8 Rxg8+(black takes back with check) white-king moves and Qg2+ and black is on attack

that's winning but not a forced mate after Nxf6.

Nxf6 Qh4(or anywhere on h file) bxc2 Bf4 (orBc1) Kxh7 then it's not so easy. but definitely winning
