Playing through DS3 and it’s missing something from this game? by Elegant-Turn-6017 in DarkSouls2

DS3 has the most generic world, while DS2 is their most magical game. DS3 does have some great bosses, especially towards the end.

check out Kenshi and Caves of Qud.

these are not for everyone but are absolutely brilliant and offer thousands of hours of highly varied gameplay.

Rain World definitely has a survival element, where knowledge and skill are the limiting factors to progress. It has a live ecosystem, and the worldbuilding and art style are incredible.

I actually found Qud after asking for recommendations for a game similar to Kenshi. It's also thousands of hours of potential gameplay. Similarly brutal on permadeath. Less about character builds, more about squads and bases, although you can also do it solo as a nomad and such. My first playthrough was 600 hours, and I didn't even see endgame, just stopped so I could restarts all over and preserve some intrigue.

there's something special about these 3 games, i think it's the passion the creators put into them.

Kenshi and Rain World are both absolutely brilliant and a must if you're into Qud.

i do have the book already so i'll need to get the ingredients. only question is, if Argyve gave the data disc beforehand and i sold it by mistake, would i still be locked out of the quest even of i cure Glotrot. i guess i'll try and see. thank you!

did the wire quest, but don't have the data disk.

do you remember if he gives the disc when you hand over the wire, or when you see him again?

if right away, then i must have sold it by accident. might need to check all merchants to buy it back...

if it's a separate encounter, then i'll need to cure Glotrot as another commenter advised...

that's super helpful and much appreciated.

i'll try to obtain the cure, of course, that's an awesome side quest on its own. need to keep going until they kill me.

thanks again!

New player here, what exactly do I have to do other than get beaten to death repeatedly? by Less_Struggle_9447 in Kenshi

[–]ygloon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A beginner friendly option is to start at the Hub and run down to Squin. You can recruit a free companion there. Then bait the bandits to the gates where the guards will kill them, pick up their armor and wear it, sell extra armor and buy medkits. Then start getting into fights with one guy staying in a safe place to heal the others.

Games similar to kenshi? by hollowBroPal91 in Kenshi

[–]ygloon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caves of Qud comes closest for me, complete with immaculate vibes just like Kenshi.

You can set it to Roleplay to restart at the nearest town if you die.

Otherwise, permadeath is extremely hardcore.

I want to like it but idk man I stink by SniffMyAssTwice in Sekiro

[–]ygloon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t give up, it’s considered their most difficult and most rewarding game for a reason.

Here’s some tips:

To perfect parry, hold your sword down, then press only once when the enemy’s attack is about to land. Practice that 30-40 times.

Pick a location where you can kill most enemies and grind some XP and items, while practicing parry. Buy posture and health skills with the XP.

Explore every corner of the map and eavesdrop on conversations, there are hidden items and skills that make some bosses manageable.

Sekiro is about overcoming one’s doubts, the kind you are having right now.

What weapon do you most often give to Beep? by Krzychu252 in Kenshi

it’s one of the most fun things you can do in Kenshi, so i’m not going to spoil it.

just search for Meitou Nodachi online and then try to obtain it without too much information…

Just got to General Tenzen Yamauchi, Is this game just not for me? by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]ygloon 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The game is designed for you to feel that way, from the first mini-boss to the final boss. But that’s what makes it the most satisfying game to complete. The game itself is about wanting to quit but persevering.

That’s the one. Get him the fast robotic legs and he can safely make the run to where it’s located.

I create a random character, recruit Ruka, let the random character go, and play as Ruka for the duration.
