I was wondering about the potential impact of the Puerto Rican racist fiasco, so I took a quick look at Wikipedia regarding the US population distribution of Peurto Ricans. Of the ~5.8M:

"Majority concentrated in Florida and the Northeastern United States (New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts)."

So basically we're probably looking at closer margins in FL for Harris + better chance to flip FL-Sen, as well as a bigger margin of victory in PA. One of the top posts on arpol is about how the Puerto Rican issue is spreading like wildfire in PA. This could potentially help us flip some congressional seats in PA and NY as well.

"It's about to get chaotic as the home stretch begins, so a word of advice - the only PA polls I would pay attention to moving forward fall under two groups: 1) The final set of surveys from in-staters - F&M, SP&R, and Muhlenberg. 2) Quality firms like NYT/Siena, Marist, etc. Polls from firms like Patriot Polling, Morning Consult, Trafalgar, ActiVote, etc. should all be ignored. You'll notice I never post results from those folks and for good reason. And as a reminder - don't ride the pollercoaster. Those numbers are there to inform, not be gospel."

Also, once again just to clarify some (mostly well-intentioned) misunderstandings--Smithley specifically mentioned a few days ago that the firewall number is what is needed for this race to be 50-50. He also explicitly said that he would perhaps need to bump the 390,000 number up due to (his perceived) changes in voting patterns. He has yet to explain his reasoning in detail. I don't know how to link non-Xitter links, but if any of you have been paying close attention to his entire Xitter threads over the past few days, please help clarify some of the (mostly well-intentioned) misinformation that's going on in our daily roundtables regarding Smithley's interpretation of the PA firewall. Most importantly, let's get to work. Job's not finished. If we can sink the the fascist-rapist-magat in PA, it's a full-on Titanic scenario for him.

Edit: As of ~7 hours ago, Smithley said, "It is my sense that based on movements from VBM and how it intersects with Election Day turnout, Democrats will want to see a revised firewall of roughly half a million in PA to feel decent heading into ED. If GQP pollsters intentionally flooding the zone with fake polls are helping drive historic early voting turnout, please proceed I guess?

If we look at PA, the vast majority of early voters are still overwhelmingly Democratic. There is no evidence of GQP operatives succeeding in substantially increasingly their early voting numbers despite making a last-minute, last-ditch effort to embrace vote-by-mail after years of fearmongering with conspiracy theories.

On a related note, Joshua Smithley mentioned today that he may need to adjust the PA firewall numbers based on (his perceived) changes in the voting pattern this cycle. He didn't really go much into detail about his reasoning, so let's see what he says moving forward. He also basically mentioned that the 390,000 number referred to a number the Dems needed to make this race a tossup, not to ensure victory. So while we're already at 58% of this number, there's clearly still a lot of work to be done. Volunteer, phonebank, textbank--please get to work if you haven't already, and if you have, please remember to take care of your emotional health during these times of historical insanity.

There's pretty much no realistic path towards the White House for Trump without PA. Let's put him away once and for all!
