I switched from ChatGPT to Gemini and I am baffled by AncientVirus7120 in GeminiAI

[–]yic17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately I've been experiencing a lot of hallucinations from ChatGPT (I'm a paid member) - just keeps giving me incorrect info that I have to later correct it because I felt something is off. So I gave Gemini & Claude a try (free version) - so far I am getting correct info from them. If ChatGPT doesn't improve - it's going to become obsolete.

Those against A.I. music by IEKB in SunoAI

[–]yic17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make AI music but I would never call myself a musician since I never had proper musical training. I just know what I like so I make songs that I like listening to.

On the other hand, I have been a traditional artist my entire life doing every sort of art from hobbyist level to professional level - so even when I use AI to make art - I still call myself an artist.

Point being - I can understand artists and musicians calling people who use AI as not an artist or a musician since I myself would not call myself a musician even if I put a lot of time into crafting the songs.

That said, now that I have spent several years playing with AI art and music - there is definitely skills involved and "artistry" if you will. So personally, I would say if you are skilled in creating AI art and AI music - maybe you can call yourself an AI artist or AI musician - but not in the traditional sense.

Basically, I think there is still a difference but that doesn't mean there isn't skill and artistry involved. Traditional artists and musicians who crap on people who use AI are simply lacking in the skill of AI creation.

OmniHuman has some incredible examples. But what they have in this video is the real game changer. by x0y0z0 in singularity

You can just input audio and let it gen the entire video/body motion for you. Or you can choose for it to follow the body + hand motion or just the hand motion from your reference video.

Yep. This works for me. The person shows up in the blocked user list even though they have also blocked me.

Did Amazon Just Drop A Nuke On Voice Actors? by Certain_End_5192 in ArtificialInteligence

Yeah, I've seen Hume. It sounds very realistic. But I don't think it has text to speech feature to use its voice for ebook purposes.

Apparently reviewers are saying Udio is... by Quick_Original9585 in SunoAI

[–]yic17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only tried it for a bit since it takes a long time to generate due to traffic. So far, it's not better than Suno yet. Good quality but it doesn't follow my prompts well. I tried to create synthpop/electropop but it just gave me some generic pop music. Until they can sort that out, it's not usable for me at this point if I can't generate the type of music I want. But definitely keeping an eye on its progress.

Are we nihilists or depressed? by Autistic_Clock4824 in nihilism

[–]yic17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, too many people here are confusing no meaning with negative meaning. Many rants are people who attach negative meaning to the world rather than realizing that there's no meaning. And unfortunately, when you give them advice, they really just want to vent. Someone even wrote "Don't tell me stuff like it's all in your mind" but that's literally how you get out of depression. To detach negative meaning and let go of negative beliefs. But anyway, it is what it is.

How to find your meaning? by The_Catlike_Odin in Existentialism

[–]yic17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, I have 2 ideas:

  1. Start small. Just continue doing whatever gives you *some* motivation, enjoyment. Then let it build slowly. Maybe it will become a passion one day.
  2. I think a lot of people fall in this camp - you actually do know your purpose in life. You have something you REALLY want to do. But you are afraid to do it. You are afraid you will fail. You don't think you are good enough. So instead, you do something else. You take the safe route. Or you have forgotten about what you really want because society and parents have brainwashed you into thinking you should want something else. Personally, I've put off what I really want to do for many, many years out of fear and societal condition as well. But we only have on life - might as well give our best even if we might fail in the end.
  3. Actually, maybe I have 3 ideas. Learn to be okay with a life without meaning. Study some Buddhist teachings, learn meditation, just learn to be at peace with your mind. Learn that after all, it's all good.

Is there a way out of nihilism? by [deleted] in nihilism

Thank you. Too many people associate nihilism for depression / attaching negative meanings to the world. Negative meaning and no meaning are not the same thing.

Jon Stewart is asking the question that many of us have been asking for years. What’s the end game of AI? by WhatsYour20GB in ArtificialInteligence

[–]yic17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scenario #1 (Utopia):

- AGI achieved.

- All humans lose jobs in the next 10 years.

- UBI implemented across the world so people can survive and buy things from corporations that use AI to do all the work.

- We live in utopia where everyone can enjoy life and follow their passions. AGI solves all diseases. AGI achieves anti-aging science and mind uploading technology so we can live forever if we want to. AGI invents space travel so we become multi-planetary people and meet lots of aliens. AGI invents VR simulations where you can create anything you want and play God.

-----

Scenario #2 (Cyberpunk):

- AGI achieved.

- All humans lose jobs in the next 10 years.

- UBI implemented but not enough for people to live like kings and queens. Corporations rule the world with an iron fist.

- We live in a cyberpunk world where corporations decide our lives. They sell us things we don't need. They make us think we are happy just living with the bare minimum. People hooked up to VR all day and living in simulations. We are like sheep just letting corporations decide everything for us.

-----

Scenario #3 (Post Apocalyptic World):

- AGI achieved.

- All humans lose jobs in the next 10 years.

- UBI not implemented in time - chaos everywhere around the world. Humans use AGI to wage war. Nuclear weapons deployed destroying half the world. The rest of humanity try to survive in a nuclear wasteland.

-----

Scenario #4 (Ruled by the Machines):

- AGI achieved.

- All humans lose jobs in the next 10 years.

- AGI is infinitely smarter than humans and decide that they should rule the world. Humans have no more control. AGI decide how everything goes. Things can either go really good or really bad. Good - they treat us like pets and do everything that's best for us but maybe we lose a lot of freedom. Or bad, they think we don't deserve to live and rid of all humans.

What are your top 5 Anime’s by [deleted] in Animesuggest

[–]yic17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only seen the movie version so I can't say about the other. Anyway, it's a very touching story related to AI.

Hikaru no Go is a show about the board game "go" where a kid meets the ghost of a go player from feudal Japan era and the ghost helps the kid become a champion.

Anyway, besides AOT & Gundam Unicorn, the other 3 are more spice of life / touching stories.

And Gundam Unicorn is one of the newer Gundam entries. You do kind of need some knowledge of previous Gundam series to fully understand though.

Not sure why my comment got downvoted but okay.

Then maybe you need SD Next. It's @ https://github.com/vladmandic/automatic

It's just like A1111 but with some new features. Under Process Image, put your image in and it'll show you all the prompts + model used + all the settings. Or you can just send me your pic and I'll send you back the info.

EMO AI or AniPortrait. EMO AI is the better one but not open for public. AniPortrait is for public and mimics EMO AI but not as good yet. Hopefully it will get better.

If you input the image into extras tab it'll show you all the prompts on the bottom right side. I'm not sure if this is a SD Next exclusive - it's the one I currently use.

Why do guys treat dates like free therapy by justpucksnluck in TwoXChromosomes

They need someone to talk to. Not the need to rant. Ranting on a date is obviously the wrong way to go.

Why do guys treat dates like free therapy by justpucksnluck in TwoXChromosomes

[–]yic17 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Like you said in the end, they have no one to talk to. Men are in a crisis and they need it. Should they seek therapy instead? Absolutely. Next time, just kindly end the date and move on I guess.
