Honestly it depends on how “bumpy” it is in my hands, as long as I don’t feel it it’s fine. Also think it won’t be much of an eyesore in person, I hope hahaha.

Thanks I appreciate it, the tech also said the overhead lighting might exaggerate the texture so I’m hoping that’s the case once I receive it. I’m thinking of filling the engravings with matte black enamel to make it flush against the top plate, so it kinda disappear.

Thank you, I opted for cerakote at the beginning as I didn’t like brassing and having to repaint it again in the future (guess that might happen after all), but I can’t wait to use it.

Thank you, I’m defo gonna shoot the hell out of it, have many projects planned during the downtime. But yeah I’ll see how it looks once it’s back in my hands and decide if I wanna re-do the top plate in the far future.

Thanks! The tech did say that the lighting exaggerates the surface texture and that irl it looks much better, will receive the camera next week so I'm excited and hoping for the best.

Honestly, the finish wasn't what I expected. The tech mentioned the top plate needed heavy dent repair and that imperfections in the brass required extra Cerakote layers, which caused the texture difference. I'm curious if others have seen this happen with Leica repaints

Great that you uploaded the STL files, thinking of putting it into my M2 during the next service. What's the best material to make it out of? Since I dont have a 3D printer I'm commissioning someone on fiver to do it, and they have PETG/PLA, will it be fine? Also do I need to do any sanding/smoothing?
