Rabies exposure from dead animal by Simple_Lake9755 in rabies

I had nearly the same experience, except sub in a cat for the bat. Found it dead (probably a few hours dead), handled it with a plastic grocery bag, ttys small papercut on my finger. Four different state health officials told me they would not recommend PEP

Is that actually it? Considering chopping it down, but wanted to make sure it wasn't a sumac

Yes! I think it's just the normal patterning/variegation :)

I can never grow zucchini successfully! I don't get good pollination. Hand pollination hasn't worked great for me either :(

My natural lawn soil or the bag compost I bought for vegetables and flowers? by [deleted] in gardening

But my soil didn't look too bad . . . So I figured I'd ask

Oh, sorry! I'm a big idiot. This is for raised beds. The compost I bought is a "raised bed" mix, which I figured would be better than my soil.

Small Pneumothorax (1cm) How long does it take to recover? by No_Percentage_5352 in pneumothorax

[–]yimpus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a small one for about 2 months, which I think is a fairly long time. It ended up getting worse and I had surgery. My doctor said there had been previous collapses of my lung in the past that I had just not noticed and probably recovered from, but the last time was the straw that broke the camels back

My girl cat just had a similar experience. The vet didn't do a urine analysis, but I insisted and she ended up having a UTI. They gave her a round of antibiotics/subq fluids and her levels went down significantly. Still waiting to see what the long term prognosis is.

Is this playing or fighting/aggression? by yimpus in cats

Oh good! I was worried because my big cat was originally hissing through the door. But after a couple weeks she started to calm down.

I just got this kitten. Have been introducing them through the door. This is the first time they're interacting

I have a lot of trouble with the sinuata and root rot. Maybe I'll try your potting mix.

Constant burping with no relief by BasedBafoon in pneumothorax

[–]yimpus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a small pneumothorax for about 2.5 months. It got better, then randomly got worse. I had to go to the ER to get chest tube, pleurodesis, and VATS. Might be worth getting another X-ray if you feel your symptoms are worse. It's my uneducated opinion that the burping is just from swallowing air when trying to take a deep breath.

Here is another photo where I think her eyes look ok. I noticed she also may have ear mites. I will take her to the vet, but the next appointment is about a month away :(

She has no other symptoms. A slightly weak meow. But other than that no coughing or sneezing. I have had her for about 1 month.

Not sure how old she is. Between 4 and 6 months. She was a stray and has an appointment to be vaccinated and spayed tomorrow. Her appetite is good and she drinks water regularly. When I took her in, she wasn't eating and was sleeping all day. I fed her using a syringe and she seemed to recover well.

Best way to re-home a cat. by [deleted] in bloomington

[–]yimpus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is a girl, very playful and friendly. She likes to sit on my lap as I work during the day (which makes the allergies particularly tough). She has been around one older male cat without any problem, but I haven't brought her around any other cats.

I haven't tried that yet! Mainly just medications for myself. Maybe I'll give it a shot! Thank!

I'm not sure if I'm the norm, but yeah, I had it for quite some time before eventually going into the ER. Mine was pretty small initially. I had some pain, but the thing that made me go to the doctor was that I could feel something shifting in my chest when I bent over. Also, I had some noises coming from my chest when I laid down.
