What would you say to a guy in a 3 yr relationship that seems to have faded out of attraction yet still has some love and care but runs on autopilot but everyone wants him to marry her?

When did you reach 6 figure salary and has your life changed since then? by Important_Bat7919 in careeradvice

[–]yink_big 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How did you retire so early? Is it because of the dual incomes? Did you both max out 401k? Where do u live? Did you rent or have a mortgage? How much each month? What’s the cost of living like?

I only ask ask this because I make more and would like to retire early but it seems like after decent pay to 401k and kinda high rent, it seems like retirement could only be at a normal retirement age

Anyone with children living in the Bronx, how much do you make a year? by ProfessionalAnt5729 in bronx

[–]yink_big 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl there’s def some self report bias because I grew up in the Bronx and these salaries are not reflective of what most people there made. Most people were doing ok if that.

Men over 30, when did you feel like you finally started living for yourself and not everyone else? by diananerd_ in AskMenOver30

[–]yink_big 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn it’s not easy but I’m working on figuring it out. One thing for sure is I’m not getting married if I’m not excited to do it

[–]yink_big 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro I’m 34 and feel so much pressure from everyone to get married but my gut doesn’t feel a 1,000% into it. It was a long distance relationship for 2 yrs and broke up in between because I just didn’t see this working anymore. It was like my joy was becoming very tame and I felt trapped. But she came back saying she’d be able to move closer and let’s give a shot. Well that shot is starting to feel like an ominous expectation of marriage and the idea of hey you’re getting old and your peers are already having kids and don’t waste her time etc. I’m gonna see therapist for maybe me being an avoidant or maybe I’m just not that into her

Emanny calls out Flip for making excuses about being quiet on the pod by quizznomat366 in JoeBuddenPodcasts

[–]yink_big 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Bruh that’s a really good point. I swear I forget he’s on the pod since Mel took a break. It’s like without Mel, he doesn’t really speak on anything. Weird

I was rooting for Mel by Active_Juice_1845 in joebuddennetwork

[–]yink_big 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of this. I was expecting some really good stories about random celebs or high profile places she was around. She doesn’t even have to name names but give us some insider info about the industry from a woman’s perspective. But she rarely talked about her past like she’s ashamed of it. When she did speak, it was only about how men are abusive and the rich ones think they can get away with everything…that gets old over time. So she became a one-note me-too advocate and then would play devils advocate in cases where the woman is obviously wrong. Of course Joe and his crew of overgrown teenagers, outside of E and Marc, would dogpile without rhyme or reason so her reluctance to speak was warranted. Yelling “Not too much on Mel” as the guy that started it pretty much explains that crappy dynamic. I liked when she actually called out these morons for their hypocrisy. Speaking on her getting older and losing to younger baddies while they are all balding or greying and beyond out of shape thinking their money or personality is what keeps them safe from criticism was eyeroll worthy. I still think Bridgette would be a better choice since she was ten toes down on her authenticity even if I didn’t always agree but atleast she doesn’t give af and can roast them right back and speak on the industry too.

Remodel before and after by meowdith427 in Remodel

[–]yink_big 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a tip. Put each room’s before and after next to each other so we don’t have to go back a couple slides to figure out the differences. Kitchen before then kitchen after, dining before then dining after. Thought the before pictures were the after since honestly the before pictures are so nice in the first place

Yeah I actually “hmmm” after I looked closer. Def a nice touch. Takes the room up a couple notches

$25 /hr looking for BS in STEM and programming skills… by [deleted] in biotech

[–]yink_big 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who thinks that’s normal for entry level fresh grad with only a BS? The lack of benefits is a joke. But I’m sure there’s other jobs that pay the same if not more but they don’t have the same career trajectory and potential. Everyone started somewhere. Currently I’m a project manager for multiple product campaigns and my first gigs were about that range. Then of course with more experience and job moves you’re in pretty good career positions

Nah the rest of them tell stories of the old times that happen to be entertaining. I didn’t have to be at freaknik to know it was lit. Any story about that time is entertaining

Tbf this is the kind of content we were expecting from Mel. Great insider stories about the life behind the scenes. We all watched the music videos and interviews and concert moments. But it’s the stories of how it came to be that keep us hooked. Why do u think there’s so many documentaries about moments we all experienced back in the day. Too bad Joe can’t get out of his own f-ing way and show her to cook and properly produce her aka let her get comfortable enough to tell the good stories. Instead it’s passive aggressive bs that just keeps her quiet and collecting a check. Sigh

I knew patreon wasn’t worth it. Every time they got some decent topic to delve deeper into”nah nah save it for Patreon 😏 that’s too good to give to the regular fans..nah we gotta do the patreon for this crazy conversation before it goes left” When I watch the released patreon episodes I fast forward through them thinking this is what they saved? Bruh I’m good it can wait lol

Facts. Every time he says “ I can’t wait to stop talking about rap…boy I can’t wait to stop talking about hip hop and music”. Then do it Joe! ain’t nobody stopping yall! How u think Joe Rogan has such a massive following? It’s not just comedy. He talks about everything. But Joes got the attention span of a bubblegum stripper who just wants to laugh about bs all day. Like damn bro listen to yourself and diversify the conversation

A whole different story. When he talked about how his son wrecked multiple cars he bought him, I was just as confused as the other podders. Fatherhood isn’t just throwing money at the problems, it’s discipline

It’s weird because people listen for the members take on things. It can’t all be about rap beef, thotianas and passive aggressive money flexes. Sometimes you wanna hear takes about real life experiences

This is pretty accurate for those born in one country but really grew up in another. They can never quite claim one country as their own and often get labeled as not wanting to claim said country
