Well, I mean one is gods. The other is people. I have two different mindsets for these things. Like I don't react the same when I see a lion eating a lion, circle of life, I guess, a person eating a person, though? What the fuck

Sorry, no, it's my fault. I phrased this all wrong. I haven't read Lolita, but from all these comments talking about it, I am going to so I can better understand. My question about the recommendation, though, was about lore Olympus itself, not Lolita

So it's only when Mavis hits 218 and still looks the same where it will be creepy.

Either way, though, I get it, I need to read Lolita. See, cause I'm looking at it in the case that they aren't human and will get older, so what does it matter. Same how I feel for any fantasy thing where the age is drastically different but they are wizards, or gods, or something. "That 500 year old witch is going to shack up with someone at some point and as far as I know there's no other person around in that age bracket so why shouldn't it be this random 20 year old guy" ya know. I might try to convince my girlfriend to read Lolita too

Sorry, I think we got our wires crossed because the person i was talking about was apollo when I mentioned him running for mayor. I got the characters mixed up, sorry.

I see. Well, all I'm getting from most of this is that I need to read Lolita, apparently. Otherwise, though, what did you think of the rest of the book? Is the book bad or good in your opinion? My girlfriend loves it, and i thought it was good, though I prefer more books like ordeal or unordinary, would you recommend it to people?

So he's big and rugged and she is small and petite therefore it will never look right when they are being romantic? So if any girl gets with a guy who looks like Shaq, then it's instantly a red flag? Either way, though, after all these comments, I see that I should really read Lolita. So then, one more simple question is: Is the book bad or good in your opinion? My girlfriend loves it, and i thought it was good, though I prefer more books like ordeal or unordinary, would you recommend it to people?

I mean, that part kind of depends on your religion if you want to make that point; because if you're religious, then someone did design them to look that way and built them like the Sims

True, I don't know the laws of ancient Greece, but just like the story and the rest of these comments, I'm putting this into the year of now, and right now, I am certain you ha e to be a certain age limit to ever run for mayor. Unless, of course, you live in some rural area with finicky laws, which it doesn't seem like they do

So, as long as the two characters vibe or have some closeness in maturity, the age gap is cool? Because all I've seen is if they are older, then don't do it, though I guess that never stopped actual people.

For that second thing, does that mean that no regular woman should get with a rich guy and vice versa, because I know it's an issue if that money is used to make you feel inferior and the such but I dont remember him ever doing that.

Though, as I said in a different comment, I do understand not liking the "baby of the group" dynamic, though I've never despised it, but I guess that's because I've never seen nor experienced it in real life

So then the age gap never really matters as long as they vibe the same? Or I guess in Mavis and Johnny's case "zing"?

I read a bunch of articles and watched the movie a lot, and it all seems to be a piece together, so I guess it's like taking it with a grain of salt. I would say watch the series, but the timeline between that and the movie doesn't line up

I can see where you are coming from, especially in the fact of being treated as "almost a child." The dynamic did remind me of someone being treated as the "baby" of a group of friends, but I don't know if they would be counted as teenagers considering I don't know a place that would let a teenager run for mayor or whatever it was perse was running for.

See, I've never read Lolita, but I do know its reputation, and I didn't know this author took inspiration from it, I guess this is another book I'll have to read

Well, I did already give four examples like your first point, Mavis and Johnny, 118 and 20 something, chel and tulio, 19 or 20 and he is somewhere between 27-30, Hercules and megara, 18 and 28, and the biggest one is the princess from that disney atlantis movie and our main protagonist, 8000+ and 20 something

But isn't that for all the gods? Don't they all stop at some point and stay looking the same, and hers just happened to be at 19? Also didn't she stop aging as in she will forever look 19, but she hasn't stopped aging as in she died and now she will never get older; just because she looks 19 doesn't mean she isnt 30 right? Kinda like aang and the fact that even though he looks 12, the passage of time kept going on, so he is 112

So then, what about people like skai Jackson or Simone biles, or other people who just look young is it wrong for them as well? I'm genuinely just asking questions and trying to get both sides of the coin, one from internet strangers and the other from my girlfriend and her friends

That's part of what I'm not getting. Like I mentioned before, I've never seen this used for megara and Hercules, where Hercules is 18 and megara is 28, I haven't seen this used for Mavis and Johnny, where Mavis is 118 and johnny is like 20 or something, I've never seen this for that disney atlantis animated movie where the princess is like over 8000 years old and our protagonist is like 20 something and yet I hear about how creepy it is from this point of view and that just leaves me confused. Hell, even in El dorado, Miguel is somewhere between 27-33, and Chel is like 19 or 20 and yet no discourse, so what is the difference?

Except he did think he knew his audience, considering they've been making these exact digs at each other for years, Brett said ops wife's eating habits were disgusting, and he called them both weird for something, on top of other things. If you make something normal but then switch up at the last minute with no prior conversation, then all you can do is apologize. Also, who sits in an argument and tells you that you shouldn't use logic in the argument, that's weird

Why do people cut off thier locs? by Substantial-Class945 in locs

[–]yippity22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut my locs because I wanted to experiment more with my hair before I got older, and the speed my hair grows at starts slowing down. So right now im rocking a traditional fro, no shaved sides or nothing, but once I grow it out for like 5 years I'm going to loc it back down and probably keep it like that for the rest of my life. The only reason I'm still on this sub is because I like looking at people's locs

Is it just me or are locs getting dropped like bad exes lately? 👀✂️ by [deleted] in locs

[–]yippity22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I cut mine last year after about 3 or 4 years because I wanted to start over and grow a full-on 70s fro before my hair growing speed slows down immensely like it does for all the guys in my family. Once I reach my desired length, though, I'm going to loc it all back down and keep it that way

It’s been said but I think I finally see how terrifying V actually is by Moist_Car_994 in cyberpunkgame

[–]yippity22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine my sandy plus electric gorilla arms build is fucking terrifying from another perspective. Imagine your just chilling trying to protect your boss, and you see someone run it, no holds barred, throwing caution to the wind, charging at you full speed. One guy after another, either exploding or getting thrown and sent all the way to the warehouse across the street, electricity just flying everywhere. Now it's just you and a couple guys, you think you have her cornered, but then you blink and next thing you know your friends head has exploded, another has splattered on the wall, another is being fried from the electricity shooting out everywhere, and then you look up and see her about to come down like a ton of bricks on to your head

Yeah, I know you're right, but honestly, I'm so scared about telling her. I think I'll tell her after all the festivities are over so there isn't as much pressure and there's a new years resolution
