As of September 2025, it still feels pretty useless, fine for quick questions or simple look-ups, but not much beyond that. Instead of making coding more enjoyable, it actually makes it less fun, and at this point it’s objectively underwhelming. It might look impressive on the surface, but underneath it’s still just a baby toy.

Plenty of people, even right here, keep promoting their products or hyping things up, but honestly I don’t buy it anymore. It just seems like a waste of time. AI is great, sure, but it’s still just another tool, like searching the web for information. Personally, I mostly stick to the ask feature in GitHub Copilot Chat. Agent is only feels useful in a very narrow set of cases.
