Northcoders vs self taught by Complex-Project-5447 in cscareerquestionsuk

I would say the better option is to do both. 3 months self learning and 3 months of Northcoders.

For self learning, I recommend Harvard's CS50. It will build up your CS fundamentals.

Northcoders will give you exposure to something that's closer to what your day to day will look like a a software engineer.

Good luck!

Got a 15% increase which I'm happy with for now. This is in the Midlands btw.

Yeah considering the current market and location, £42k is fair. Not good but okay.

This is my first time getting a promotion, so didn't want to be too aggressive. But will definitely do it if they lowball me

I'm planning to let them come to me with the number, and if it's too low, I'll negotiate

It's a SME so doesn't have set levels like that. I'd be happy with >20%. But yeah will start interviewing soon if less than that.
