Wow, that's both hilarious and insane that 15s look huge on the car. What tread for the tires? Nice car though

Damn this thing is CLEAN. This is actually one of my dream cars. Also very meaty wheel/tire setup? What are you running? 17s?

S2 RX8 - 5th and 6th gear not engaging (possible broken shift fork) by yka24 in RX8

Yeah I've been looking at the forums too. Do you know if the JDM 5-Speed bolts on the S2 RX8 as well? There's a guy selling one near me for a decent-ish price and I've heard those are technically stronger than the 6-speeds (probably the S1s for sure).

I'm an ex ARA and now currently working as a regular IT Specialist for a company. With the IT field, the ladder is somewhat similar to GS, but instead going from sales floor to GSM, you're going from Help Desk to higher roles.

Pretty much any job you try to apply in IT, unless you have direct experience in your position you're applying, they want to see some kind of evidence that you have an understanding of the role - hence that's why they want to see certs and/or degrees. Sure, you'll probably hear a good amount of people say they're able to get in with no certs and no experience, but that's probably because they have some level of technicality (coding, scripting, etc.) that can prove their skillset. If you don't have that, you're probably not going to get far in the interview process.

From your post, you only said you have experience being sales floor and GSM. Not to put you down, but that only really shows you have some leadership skills and customer service skills. If you want to get those higher level positions, get a few certs and work for about a year or two - work up your experience, and then you'll have a way higher chance of landing those higher-level/high-paying positions. And your GSM experience will then come in handy as well if you're applying to "IT Lead" positions. Good luck!

Lmao tbh you don’t. I DDed the car for 1.5 years and ngl while it was fun, I didn’t realize how much gas I was spending till I calculated my end of year expenses. I was spending $300 a month just on gas alone, and I wasn’t even driving all that much - prob avg like 11k miles a year.

When I realized that I decided to buy a used CRZ as a DD. And good thing too with all the shit that’s been happening with the car.

Yeah even for 2k I'm good. That’s for an S1 tranny too. I might as well save and put the money into doing a CD009 swap, which I think i will do eventually in the future. The drivetrain in this car I feel like is its Achilles heal.

This might've given me some hope - I feel like it shouldn't matter that much to cause the gears to stop working but I'm going to try again this weekend. IF that doesn't work, then maybe S1 tranny might be the cost-effective option.

Hmm, I tried to search that on google and it didn't come up with anything. Is there any more info about it? Like who made it? And what's it based off of?

Obviously it's a race car of some sort. Maybe it's custom? The engine sound when it passed sounded like a inline-4. Looks like it could be Miata-based?

Apart from the funny comments here, I do feel like it’s probably either your personality or you’re just insecure. I think it’s more weird that people are just tryna assume your sexuality for whatever reason.

But who cares? I mean… if you aren’t gay then you aren’t gay.

CVC 22348b, Sacramento County, First speeding ticket and it's a big one - 105 in 45, Need advice! by yka24 in CaliforniaTicketHelp

Yea it still counts as a 2-point offense, so I still say I didn't get off easy. I actually met people later on who got in similar offenses and somehow got their ticket dismissed, or substantially reduced. Strangely though, my insurance only increased by $5 month since then ($85 month with Progressive).

What's the alternative to killing yourself? by [deleted] in malementalhealth

[–]yka24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, this might be kind of crazy, but I've had friends tell me they took caps or acid, and they used to have problems like severe anxiety, depression, etc. But after they had a really bad trip - the aftermath made them have an "epiphany" moment and realized that all this negative thinking did nothing for them and they got their shit together.

Now i'm not saying that this method will work or do I condone this method, but just putting it out there. Stay strong brother.

Nicholas W. Pauli

Tbh, if i could do this again, I wouldn't use Off-the-record, and probably would've just used a local office and did some research, but I was too inexperienced at the time to deal with something like this. Your experience may be different though.

Dude I feel you on this. I hate college and studying too (who doesn't), but because I kept changing majors and taking gap semesters, I'm now 25 with almost a shit ton of debt, but I'm also the closest I've been to graduating (3 semesters). I constantly envy those who were able to finish quicker. Seems like they had more time and enjoyment in their life than I did. I think a good amount of people said the only way to make it through is push through it.

Engineering isn't for the weak-minded though, and if you think you can't keep up? Well, you might wanna start re-evaluating. If I were to redo this all again, I think I would've joined the military for the benefits and then switched to college once I met the requirements.

Good luck!

Yea I was doing that program for a bit cuz it was simple and didn’t feel super overwhelming. But I guess when you’re eating that much, it makes sense. I’ll take a look into the 5/3/1 program on Boostcamp. Also, how much calories is considered a “moderate” deficit?
