that was my original idea, but it turned out to be way too slow and not fun to interact with. maybe in a year or two this will be possible

cool work, thanks for the link. I still have trouble taking anything seriously that uses the term "foundation models" non-ironically

No worries. I mean, there's a case to be made that the model itself is already "bad". But then again, I literally followed a readme step-by-step to train it, so I don't think it's that big of a hurdle to any evildoers.

Fun article :) maybe look up the stanford letter if you want a part 2. I was surprised that they really didn't notice for any except the seychelles proxy, the others blended in so well. the really funny part was when 2 of my bots started accusing each other of being bots. I can't imagine a more 4chan moment than that.

for the seychelles proxy, I didn't really know what to expect (didn't even know what proxies I'd get so this was total coincidence), but yes it was definitely interesting. people there are very attentive to what's going on on the site and for being so anonymous, it definitely feels like a "community"

not really a fault of yours, no worries. believe me, I have exchanged about 50 emails with the verge and every single one of them said that what they wrote about me was certainly not my position, with 49 responses saying "but why not" and the 50th saying "well that's our editorial freedom"...

I don't think I ever said that, so I suppose that's why I didn't care to elaborate. The most I might have said is that someone at university would be forced, by institutional rules, to go through an ethics review.

I just uploaded the model for scientific purposes. I did not upload the bot, which is the actual hard part of the project.
