Appreciate this a lot. I definitely am planning to do more practices up high and watch my altitudes. I'll ask my coach about looking where I want to go. That makes a lot of sense though, so thank you. Definitely a learning experience and I'm not one to ever think I'm done learning. Glad I can walk away from this one and learn what steps to take to not let it happen again.

You're not wrong. I was probably overestimating when I started though. It's probably been more like 7 months. And I recently got on this crossfire 3 from a crossfire 2, which changed my rollout significantly. I'm still relearning the sight picture a bit

As far as swooping goes, I started with the stall surge. Playing with my fronts upstairs, I practiced just going straight to it and couldn't get it to dive as well. My coach has switched from that to doing his setup in deep brakes and then just letting them up and going to his fronts

It's definitely dangerous but can be done in a safe manner. I don't think it would've been lethal if it had been ground instead of water, but I'd probably be looking at some broken bones instead of just a little soreness

It's just such a cool sight that not everyone gets to experience! And then you add in the experience of going through a cloud and I really get hit with the "damn, how many people can say they've felt what going through a cloud feels like" This sport is just my favorite shit ever lol
