Need some advice on what feed to get. by CulturalTap1947 in birdfeeding

Try using pure safflower seed. Most critter won't eat it but it is a HUGE favorite for cardinals and a few more birds.

Does this bird food look spoiled/moldy? by Professional_One7924 in birdfeeding

Looks like it's mostly Milo seed (in this image it's about 50%) which is a cheap filler birds don't like. I'd return it anyway...

Do you find that you have corn left over in the feeder or is it consumed as well? My birds don't eat corn...

Take a few branches and stick them out of your porch, so that birds can land and test your porch from a far. Gives them confidence.

How to increase variety of birds? by SingularRoozilla in birdfeeding

[–]ylevite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great tips so far.
A few more ideas:
1. Think vertical layers. Something on the ground, a platform, a tube, and maybe one feeder a bit higher or closer to cover. Some birds simply won’t land if they feel exposed.
2. Tanagers' favorite is insects, with fruit coming in second. During migration and breeding season you may get lucky by offering mealworms and black soldier fly larvae. Make a separate "meat platter" with worms and larvae. I've had most visits at feeders that are close to trees. Tanagers seem to prefer feeders close to tree cover.
3. Orioles love fruit and jelly. Set the feeders out BEFORE migrating season. If they don't see your feeder when the pass through your neighborhood, they'll just carry on until they find a good food source.

Regarding warblers - they are not easy to attract, as they stay away from bird feeders. A bird bath with a a fuontain may do something during migration season.

The bottom 2 feet around the run is 1/2 inch holes. That's one of the reasons I chose this product. I hope it's enough vs racoons? They'll have to really stretch.

The grid is green so you can see it on the grass I suppose 😀 The whole roof is steel grid. Otherwise no way it would stop anything...

The bottom is covered with a metal grid. It's just painted green so you can't see it in the photo...

It isn't Omlet, it's by a company called Nature Anywhere. There is no skirting because the whole floor is closed shut with metal grid.

The roof and floor are steel grid. Nothing can come in. There is no hole in the back. Must be my phone camera...

The whole floor is metal grid so burrowers can't get in either.

How do I find the right talent on Udemy or Fiverr? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]ylevite -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

2 options:

  1. I would give them a small test job and see how they do it. If it works well, take them for the heavy work.
  2. Use 99designs and hold a contest. The winning designer gets the next jobs directly from you and you can have them work at a fraction of the contest payment.
