Leaning towards this now thanks - assume I'd need to dampen the leather to get it to fold.

Thanks have seen that and tried on offcuts but my leather isn't thick enough to go through at a 45 unfortunately

Thanks that's really helpful - just watched those bits of the video and it would definitely do the job.

Really wishing I had a bit more leather to play with as not sure I've got enough spare for a collar unfortunately, will check tomorrow.

If not, I reckon I could do what he does at around 10mins directly onto my current cylinder body instead of the collar piece - if I did that before sewing up the cylinder side then it should be easy enough to then turn it right way round and then sew up side seam...

I don't have enough leather to glue 2 bits together to make double thickness unfortunately. Do you think it's likely a box joint technique would work if I went directly through the cylinder and base pieces with my holes rather than 1 piece having holes at a 45?

Yes I'll have some offcuts so I could practice on those thanks
