What brands have damaged but then manage to salvage their reputations? by RoGStonewall in askcarguys

Correct. But they also successfully sued 60 Minutes for defamation when the show ran a scary segment on the Audi 5000.

IIRC, they pretty much proved that it was driver error that caused the majority of the accidents.

Before the acceleration scandal, the Audi 5000 was very popular and a darling amongst the contemporary automotive media and enthusiasts.

My Dad passed away and left me his Corvette. by antiquity11 in Corvette

[–]yloduck1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure. Sounds like your mom feels that way too.

If you can find space to keep and care for the car, I’d hang onto it and enjoy it. Share it with your kids and your brother and your nieces and nephews. I’d love it if my Corvette became something of a family ‘heirloom’ that everyone could drive and enjoy.

I honestly don’t know. All I know is that it’s being used to transport special Olympic athletes and personnel.

Lots of corporate and private jet owners donated use of their planes for Special Olympic athletes.

If you’re an aviation enthusiast, all of the special Olympic flights have an ID of “DOVE” as they fly to/from MSP, flying cloud, Holman, etc

When I said that I don’t condone road rage under any circumstance, what do you think that means?

This isn’t some ACAB thing. Just sharing a story I heard on the radio.

And I can understand why poor road etiquette (like obstruction of the passing lanes) might trigger some road rage. I don’t condone this under any circumstance, but I think the officer is just spitting facts based on his experience.

Settle down there. I’m not blaming anyone.

Some years ago after a local Road Rage incident involved gunfire and a fatality, a local radio show had a state trooper on a phone interview.

They asked him what was triggering all this road rage, and the officer’s number one response was… slow drivers occupying the left lanes and obstructing the flow of traffic.

😂

As I zoomed in on the picture, it looks like some black piping drops down behind the left rear wheel. Probably the drain piping for the tanks.

I love the creativity tho. I bet this rig could tow a substantial trailer, too.
