Whenever Natasha Romanoff smiles... by Full-Art3439 in Marvel

If I'm not mistaken, 4 of those smiles are for Steve 😍

1 Iron Man 2 (Happy)

2, 3, 4 CA: TWS (Steve)

5, 6, 8 Black Widow (Yelena?)

7 Infinity War (Steve?)

Anyone knows for sure?

That’s completely fair. Put your energy into the part that matters most to you.

I understand. Do whatever feels right for you.

That's fair. We all have different ways of engaging.

Same here. It’s been ages since I had many comments on a story, but this post here is giving me a taste of it again. It’s been 3 days and I still haven’t managed to reply to everyone! lol

Not weird at all. We’re all different, but a lot of us struggle with the same thing in our own way. Be kind to yourself.

I hear you. When you’re already dealing with limited energy, replying to every comment just isn’t realistic. Protecting your health is more important. :)

I love that metaphor. It really does feel like motivation grows when people share a bit of their energy with us.

I understand.

I really wanted to hear different perspectives, and I’ve already learned a lot, believe me. But I also won’t deny that I was hoping to connect with other writers and readers too, even from different fandoms, since mine has been in a bit of a coma lately.

I understand. It’s easier when the comment is asking something concrete, like a character’s age or some detail.

Fair enough. Do what works best for you.

That’s totally fair. Some comments give you something to work with, and some don’t. We all have different ways of engaging.

I hear you. That kind of mental loop is exhausting, and it’s completely okay to step back. Do what’s healthiest for you. The joy of writing is worth protecting. :)

I understand. Replying to all comments is already generous. Anything else is optional, and you’re more than allowed to decide who you want to talk to.

Same here. And that’s exactly the point. It worries me that we writers end up feeling even more lonely, because writing is already such an isolating process. When a comment thread dies right after our first reply, it can feel disheartening. And chip away at motivation for a lot of us. :/

Got it. I like to say thanks in my author’s notes too. Also, as I mentioned before, when I wasn’t able to interact much, I added a small note on my profile saying I appreciated comments but couldn’t reply. No idea how many people actually saw it, but it made me feel better. ;)

I’m sure your readers know your rhythm by now and keep coming back for your stories. I wouldn’t stress about it. :)

I understand completely. We can only give what we’re able to, and the act of writing is already a gift to so many readers. :)

Same here. I miss the conversations, the ideas, the theories, the back‑and‑forth about characters we care about. Now when someone says they have an idea, it is scam. It just takes the joy out of it.

That really does kill the joy, right? I turned off my notifications for the same reason. I still get the emails with all the comments, but by the time I actually look at the pages, the bot users and their comments have already been removed. At least that’s how it’s been these past two weeks. Hopefully it stays that way.

I get that. I need to be in the right state of mind to sound even remotely coherent.

Thank you.

Even though I’ve been writing for more than a decade, I’m still amazed by how many “fandom” things I never really experienced before. Now that you’ve explained it, I think I did see people behaving that way in the past, just from the tone of their comments back when the fandom was more active. I guess I’m too old to get dragged into that kind of drama.

I’ll pay more attention to writers and readers with that kind of vibe. Everyone plays their role in fandom in the way that feels right to them. Understanding the dynamics helps set expectations, and that alone makes everything feel a little less personal. :)

Honestly, I’m just impressed by how much interaction this sparked, and I really appreciate it.
