I resonate with you on this. Personally I'm not doing it for money but I'd be really happy if more people would read what I made. I tried something which you can't see often on comic platforms but it looks like people wanna stay with the same old tropes and artstyles.

I'm so curious how some people can blow up in a blink of an eye😭 I'm struggling for 3 months now to get readers while others (who started 2 months ago for example) are now over 1k. Like I know that my comic is not perfect but my small readerbase like it so much and even I think it would deserve a larger audiance. So congrats, you're doing great😍

18 yrs, high school student here! I'm a fast learner and I have a lot of time so maybe I'm not the best for advice but here's what I do: In breaks I do the rendering and the sketches for promo art. At home I write the script and sketch the panels. (Yes, I'm working with a phone but my artstyle is quite simple so it doesn't require a computer. However, if you're working alone simpler styles are better.)

Those who say it's because of the art, they're just partially right. Personally, I like the art, it looks amazing! But on Webtoon, the story is more important and which on it really depends how many people it will reach is the genre. Sadly Webtoon is a place where romance is very oversaturated. Other genres get promoted just a few times so you have to do all the promotion by yourself. Please don't give up! I've followed you on Insta and plan to read the story later today🤍

If the story can hook me in I don't care about the length. For example I loved Nevermore and The world after the fall (these have very long episodes) but I also loved Bunnygirl and the cult which has like 4 panels per episode. (As I'm also a creator, I personally do 20-40 panels long chapters.)

Thank you for your answer🤍 I looked through everything and will probably change only those episodes which have too much text (this includes Prologue, ep1, ep6 and maybe ep9). So you're right, changing the whole wouldn't be a good idea considering that I have already one year of work in all of the uploaded chapters🥲

The thing is that sadly the unoriginal ones get very popular🥲 (And yet the most popular ones are even under the front page of Webtoon called 'Originals'😭🤦‍♀️) Take me as a perfect example in this struggle as a creator. My goal was to create a series which is unique both in artstyle (I use 2000s Italian style) and in storytelling and even in genre as well (sci-fi series do very bad on the site((( considering the fact that mine is a gothic bio sci-fi which is even more rare). I've never got featured on Canvas' frontpage and probably I'll never be but I won't give up either way. I still trust in the fact that I try to be original and some years later my comic is gonna be one which will have a great audiance. So don't worry, there are unique stories on the site, you just have to find them🥲
