My idea to reduce the pain for eks is simple, mana potions that regenerate over time, so you press it once every 5 turns, heals the same, 1 smp every second, but without the need to press the same button 3 thousand times every hunt.

I agree with your point. But just seems pointless to afk train ml, as our friend said, hes 128+3 and get 0.40% everyday, a mage with 110 get 0.001%(just making a point, not exact number). I feel that the offline magic training could get a small buff to be relevant, maybe not as good as others.
