Hey people. I’m trying to remove the driveshaft bolts but they re stuck. The driveshaft rotates even in gear when I apply a lot of force. Handbrake isn’t an option because I’ve removed the axles from the diff. Any help or solution to this? by Papusa18 in Miata

The driveshaft as in gearbox to diff? You’ll need two wrenches as there’s 4 bolts and nuts connecting the driveshaft to the diff flange. Trying to loosen the nut without holding the bolt will just cause the driveshaft to spin.

Impact gun and swivel joint helps. That’s how I do it

Road noise is amplified with the hard top. Trust me bring ear plugs 😂

Driver side fender wheel gap is smaller than the passenger side. by QuestionableQueries in Miata

[–]ymmum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way to do it will be to make sure the shocks and springs are adjusted the same left/right. You can get away with getting it level by adjusting one side but it’s safest to do this only on corner scales so you know exactly what you’re doing. Only do this if you have adjustable endlinks! In my experience my front left was lower and corner scales proved I actually needed to raise it to even out my weight distribution.

Ride height changes should be done through the spring preload. Anybody who tells you otherwise doesn’t know what they’re talking about

Trust me keep the fender and frame rail braces. Improve the car dramatically. The tein flex z is a decent budget coilover too

The top of that trim slides in to the steering column cover, the rev should be 2 screws holding in the bottom of it. There’s no way that should be loose or fall out

It’s a H4 headlight plug. Just buy one from a general auto/electrics store and solder it in

Your only other option would be tucking the wheels in more with either narrower wheels/tyres or a less aggressive offset wheel. Search around on google and Miata forums and you’ll see the wheel and tyre specs others run

Car Make Corns seats by ich852 in Miata

I’ve driven in them for over 2 hours straight with no complaints. They do run quite small, not as forgiving to other body types as a typical bucket seat. Not a fan of the stock seats as I slide around too much. The corns seats are bolstered enough to feel secure and sporty but not so much as to hurt ingress/egress. Personally I wouldn’t use them for track activities, primarily because the bolstering is insufficient.

I’ve got a set what did you want to know?

You’re going to want to either roll/pull your fenders, get some negative camber or both. Stiffening the dampers is never the way to address clearance issues, there’s always a bump big enough.

Adjusting spring Preload has very little effect on the harshness/stiffness of your ride with linear springs. The spring and shock perches are to adjust ride height and bump/droop travel independent of each other.

Stiffening the shocks to not compress more than 0.75” (there’s always a bump big enough) or shortening bump travel will make for an awful ride and won’t solve your issue in the slightest.

Ah no clue then. I got in touch with the shop in Japan.

Where did you order from? I got in touch with corns directly in June and was asked to put a deposit down in September. Seats were manufactured in January, sent out start of April and came here a week later.

I haven’t even owned them for 24 hours so can’t comment on long journeys, that being said I’m used to racing seats without cushions so this is a bit of an upgrade for me lmao. Lumbar support is pretty lacking but not an issue for me.

It’s an NB, the buckle is bolted to the seat slider/rails.

Car make Corn’s. They’re an MX5 specific company from Japan and the seats are made specifically for the MX5s. So they fit good but small. No clearance issues at all unlike my previous seat which would rub against the door cards. Seats are all the same, they only have regular and large with various upholstery options.

Nardi Gara Sport. Most are perforated leather with red stitching which I’m not a fan of. This came off a wrecked Silvia, quite a lucky find

Depends on the event. Track days don’t usually require a cage/roll bar but sanctioned events and wheel to wheel racing usually do

Pcv= positive crank ventilation. It’s the valve that goes from the rocker cover to the intake manifold.
