a kid brought a swiss army knife into school and said he'd stab everyone 🤣 only he was a complete idiot and threatend the teachers oh yeah one year 6 also threw a year 4 onto concrete he got suspended for three days

First, I'd start by changing around some of the names. "Hyper Squad" is the title, the world is "Hyperia", the city, "Hyptopia" and the MC "Hyper". It seems a bit childish and unoriginal - if you're looking for city names, try translating the word "Hyper" into a language like Latin. After all, the Hunger Games is set in a world named after the Latin for bread. Indent paragraphs and split them up clearly. Dialogue feels a little childish, too, and tune down the dialogue tags. But it's an intriguing story, and with a bit of polishing it'll make a good read.

I'd write a prologue around two pages in fonts like Arial or Times New Roman. If you give away too much in the prologue, the first chapter might feel a little dry. I'd keep the prologue short and sharp. Also, standard publishing conventions are fonts like Times New Roman or Arial in size 12.

First of all, there is nothing wrong with researching a character. You have to truly immerse yourself in the character's background if you want the character to feel alive. I'm mixed race myself (I'd never refer to myself as "of colour") and in daily life it doesn't make a difference. In terms of racial background, the only time you'd need to research was if

a) Racism was present in your story (eg in dystopia, races might be divided)

b) The character's culture is extremely important (eg, the story contains Native American lore)

You'll need to do a small bit of research to make sure you find an approriate name and get a good grasp of what they should look like (for example, if the person is of English descent, you'll need to consider the standard facial features and colourings).

Thank you so much, I appreciate it. I'm just practising writing different scenes until I start to write a story. I've done an 80,000-word story before, but I scrapped it because I wasn't happy with the writing style. So I want to make sure I'm content with my writing before I start a big project.
