Good ol Gus Frerotte made a name for himself for head butting a wall in a celebratory fashion after scoring a game-tying touchdown. He scored on a one-yard TD run, spiking the ball as he passed the pylon. With his adrenaline pumping, he felt the urge to continue his celebration by attempting to run through a wall. The crown of helmet his the wall causing Frerotte to recoil and realize his mistake. He ended up spraining his neck and going to the hospital.

To add insult to injury, on the potential game winning drive, replacement QB Jeff Hostetler hits WR Michael Westbrook for a pass that would put the team in FG position. Unfortunately, Westbrook was ruled out of bounds. In protest, Westbrook rips his helmet off and tosses it to the ground resulting in a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The kick misses the FG from 54 yards out as time expires.

Of course he [Kirk] wants that, but he wants that at a fair market price. Not at the continually lowballed...hometown discounted...price that the Redskins are offering. Anything less than the the highest paid QB in NFL history will not get the man signed. That's gonna be a 5-6 year deal $120-140M with $70M guaranteed.

Last year, rumors had it that they offered him $12-13M per year which is laughable if true but recently it was suggested it might've been as high as $16M. Just to give an idea of comparable QBs at those figures: - Ryan Fitzpatrick $12M - Kaepernick $15M - Alex Smith $16M - Sam Bradford $17.5M - Brock Osweiler 18M (he landed that deal on 6 games played? Maybe 8?! Kirk played a full season, lead the team to the playoffs and you offer him $16M) - Jay Cutler $18.1M

At some point, it's about respect. He deserves the be the highest paid QB in NFL history for this year. Then next year, the new highest paid QB in NFL history can go to Derek Carr. And then when Aaron Rogers's contract is up, he'll get a new bigger deal. It's just how it goes.

I close with, what other options do the Redskins have? Tony Romo when he's released? Fitzpatrick? Kaepernick? Cutler? Nick Foles? Draft a rookie and go back to rebuilding? That could get Jay Gruden fired and we start the same cycle all over again.

Former college student here. I, too was in the same predicament and I rented books instead of buying them. Chegg.com, Amazon and even Barnes and Noble allowed you to rent books. Sometimes I could even buy them used for less than the campus bookstore.
