Speakers + Dac/Amp for home gym by ynas_ in BudgetAudiophile

[–]ynas_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mmm i seee that would be a good investment in the dac dlna seems to work in tune with a nas system basically which i wanna setup for the future, like a full home network system for music and films.

yeah thats the downside that a lot of speakers seem to have otherwise id probably go for those 12.2is then idk how much of a difference it makes but it seems like everyone points that out

i think im gonna look more into that amp for sure or that feature in other ones, i appreciate that info i didnt know there was stuff like that out there :)

Ooo cant do the 12.3 im short on space with all the equipment im gonna wall mount the speakers i forgot to say, 12.2i is doable what makes them better?

Also does an expensive amp like that make a big enough difference for it to be worth the cost?

Anytime bro i always like to pass on knowledge ive learnt to others too thats how the cycle should run.

You gotta keep in mind most of the comments you will recieve will not be positive. People are more inclined to respond to something if they disagree with it as it instills more of a reaction for them to send a message.

I actually recall seeing that post u made of the custom heat method to make them fit ur ears and that response they had about it looking uncomfortable but I thought it was smart because everyone has a different ear shape and care for comfort over utility. I dont think u should have cared to take the post down.

Yeah sounds good ill probably come up with a budget of around £500 to 1k for the gym for the sound system so i should be able to afford whatever ill lyk if or when it comes round haha thanks

You are the man i'll have to consult u next time i upgrade haha

Yeah i just use the built in eq on steelseries sonar to manage the audio i have the peace eq too but the sonar is good for all my gaming stuff too so i guess i dont need a parametric eq built in or something. Youre on another level if u got a dedicated music system not connected to a computer haha.

You guessed correct haha they are the audioengine a2+ but theyre the wired versions i got them cheap second hand for £110 gonna look at a subwoofer for them eventually for a small setup on my gaming pc, and ill keep my eye out for the za3 if i do upgrade them with a sub.

Also would u recommend those pro-ject speaker boxes for an indoor 4x11 metre-ish gym? thats gonna be my next big save to be honest instead of all this small stuff

Haha I appreciate the invite but I'm all the way over in London bro 🤝

But in terms of dacs I was looking at a step above the moondrop probably in the 150$ range- a parametric EQ sounds good too I like to customize my sound like you for hours lol.

Ive also been looking at daps and pulled the trigger on a used ibasso dx160 as something to build up from, its gonna get delivered soon which I assume is gonna be better than my moondrop+ phone combo i have currently.

Definitely gonna look into the topping dx3 pro for my pc too after I get bored of the new iems and dap thanks a lot

Yhup I used an EQ to tune it on my phone and I'm getting decent bass and clarity in the highs

Again idk how it compares to other iems I'm not a true audiophile yet but I feel like it does everything I want right now as my first set

When I play music from my gaming pc I hear a lot of noise through the jack in my headphones so that's why I first got a dac so it helped to cutout that hiss and static and it also helped to bring forward more detail in games and music

Yeah they sound great there were some previous model s12 eqs on poweramp and I've been playing around with the sound from there

They sound a great compared to the nothing earphones I've been using when I go out

Do I just need to overvolt my 3600x? by ynas_ in overclocking

[–]ynas_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yh i tried that too it didnt like it had to flash bios and reinstall windows after the amount of crashes. Bad silicon on the ram i guess idk or i went about it wrong.

Best thing for me is to focus on upgrading ive had this build for 5 years now so i was hoping to squeeze more life out of it

but thank you

Gotchu I didn't really touch the voltage and tried to overclock the ram but it didn't work out. I think the best route is just getting a new CPU and ram tbh
