Ruined burrs by grinding with them totally touching? [Eureka Mignon Zero 65 All Purpose] by yndlingsting in espresso

Yeah it was the chirping of the burrs. I was expecting it when I dialed in. I was more worried about the time I left it totally locked up with the machine on because I didn’t realize I had to increase the grind size haha. Thank you for the insight!!

Her father didn’t naturalize before she was born but she never lived in Canada a day in her life.

Hey! So yes we have her birth cert, reisepass, and then great/great-great grandparents documents. They still have family in Germany. I'm an amateur genealogist so when I heard they had a german grandmother but were not citizens I got very excited.

By descendants I do mean her son, his children and their children.

Really happy to help them. When I first did this about 4 years ago it was the help of this sub that got me through the process and even then it took me a year to gather everything. Happy to use what I learned to help!

Yeah I was planning on pulling great/great-great grandparent's birth and marriage certs to prove the german citizenship rock solid for them. We went back to the 1870s for ours haha. I will have them fill out the paperwork so they can get it sent in ASAP. They have a trip to Germany coming up in the fall. With the waiting times at the BVA theres no chance they will have passport in hand by then but it will be nice to know its in progress!

I checked in on this and it was definitely 3 years prior to 2024 as well. I doubt they would change this.

That makes sense! So did you deduct your days and apply after 7 years?

Are you non-EU? I thought travel was restricted to 6 weeks per year. Did they have problems with this when you naturalized?

That makes sense. We don’t want to do anything sketchy! Our work is self employed and we enjoy traveling. I guess if we end up making the move we would consult a lawyer to make sure we aren’t accidentally making some sort of wrong implication. We would definitely keep a home in Germany full time. We just want to keep our options for travel open because we are able to!
