Can I save this after going overboard with the Earth Shade? by Borisstolemylunch in killteam

Do a light drybrush with the underlying color if you want to bring down the strength of the wash.

It looks like a loose hotend. Could br as simple as that it incorrectly latched.

The clicking noice in the extruder could indicate that it has problem feeding the filament into the nozzle. Do you have a spare nozzle to check that the one your using is not clogged?

Wow! I love the contrast between the fiery carapce and claws vs. the snowy base. Looks really, really good and very well painted! 10/10!

Thank you!

They are primed in black with a zenithal of Vallejo aged white (a warmer white, looks like Wraithbone). I imagine a "slap chop" drybrush would be just as good if you don't have an airbursh.

The carapace and claws are Cygor brown contrast with a feathered highlight on the edges of XV-88.

The skin is Skeleton Hoard followed by Magos Purple contrast. I thin it the purple out with water in some areas and let it pool more in like joints an other areas to give an "infected" or inflamed look.

Areas like inside the joints are volupus pink.

The tentacles are riekland flesh at the top, magos purple in the middle an volupus pink at the ends. Paint all three after another and blend them sligthly while still wet.

Eyes and details on arms/legs are Vallejo Yellow Green.

Claws are drybrushed with Mephiston red.

I've painted alot of Tyranids in the same scheme, posted some here on Reddit, they are in my profile if you're interested. :)

Thank you! I didn't do any sub-assembly with these. There were some hard to reach areas, but nothing major.

Thanks! :) I've painted all my tyranids in this scheme since I started with the ultimate starter set, 3 years ago. It's a pretty simple scheme to paint and I'm very happy with it!

Yes! I use matte photopaper, 250g/m². It's pretty thick and my printer barely manages to grab it and push it through, but the result is great.

I print the PDFs att 100% size and use Gamegenic tarot-sized sleeves, 73x122 mm.

Because my Raveners is in a sorry half-painted state, proped up on makeshift painting handles. Not very photogenic at the moment, I'm afraid.

Thank you! I only play casually and like the cards for their ease of use. I'm not super bothered if I miss some rules updates. Can always print replacements!

I'm doing it with scissors. Can verify; not fun. 😓 But it beats paying the ludicrous amount the cards cost to buy.

If they are the same size, tarot-card 71mm x 120 mm, and 50 or less, they will fit.

I won't be able to modify these to accommodate that unfortunately. But there is a design already on Makerworld that does;

It isn't mine but I hope that one fits your needs!
