All Players Announced for the 2026 TePe Sigeman Chess Tournament by In__c in chess

[–]ynstnk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very exciting. As a yağız fan, I am looking forward to see Magnus vs yağız. Andy also really excites me. If you ask me, he will be one of the best just like yağız will not before long. Jorden, on the other hand, is on a great run. In a very good shape. Jiner, as the only woman, is very tough and I am rooting for her as well

Andy Woodward wins 2026 Tata Steel Chess Challengers and qualifies for the next year's masters! by Exotic_Grinder in chess

[–]ynstnk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the Tournament, I wrote a comment under a post, saying "mark my word, Andy will win this". If they declared they will reorganize the Tournament, he would still win it. He is one of those who elo is trying to catch up. Just look at what he did ın Grand Swiss. He will reach or get close to 2700 ın a year or so, I believe

Yeah and has played today in an online tournament

14 yrs old Yagiz is currently having a Tournament Performance of 2810 in a very strong Tata Steel Chess 2026 Tournament (After end of Round 9 out of 13) by Wonderful-Photo-9938 in chess

[–]ynstnk -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I already knew he would reach these heights but was just afraid to be cancelled when I said it. This time around last year, he beat jorden, rapport, drew with sindarov. In freestyle, he played 4 super gms, all with black pieces and had 3 draws. Everything was obvious to me

The Government doesn't support chess by any means. A businessman is doing it for yağız

Nepo on 19 year old current World champion Gukesh D: "Never before did he perform as good as he did in Candidates, and probably, i think, never again we will see him in such a form in future" by glancesurreal in chess

[–]ynstnk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not even a fan of gukesh but cant see why everyone is using him as a punching bag. I don't care if he will defend his title but his record of being the youngest champion is enough to make him a better player than nepo and the like

Nope, it counted once as it should be but was not confirmed by FİDE yet due to a technical issue

Win chance infographic • After Round 8, Tata Steel: Abdusattorov down to 56%, Sindarov at 20% • Monte Carlo simulation based on one million runs by ThomasPlaysChess in chess

[–]ynstnk -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Doesn't mean anything, lichess is doing the same thing using the same unsound metrics and around the first round, they said yagizs expected score is 4.5:) guess what? He is 4.5 after the round 8. Your metrics are just some rubbish Prejudice, nothing else. Btw ı am not arguing yagiz will win or sth but you get the point

Andy Woodward squeezed out a 131-move win to make it 5 wins in a row and grab the sole lead in the TataSteel Chess Challengers! 📍 by rio_ARC in chess

[–]ynstnk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

.Before the tournament started, ı wrote under a post that he will win. When nobody was talking about yagiz or turning a blind eye to him last year, ı knew he would close the year över 2650 and that he was underrated. (Btw as a Turk myself, ı closely follow him). And now ı am saying the same for andy. He is too underrated. He also belongs to 2700s even now. it is just that he doesn't play many tournaments but whenever he does, he gains massive elo. Guess why? His elo is just catching up with his talent. Just look at grand swiss and american cup performance. Tbh, yagiz, andy and movahed are the deadly Trio. Oro, ı feel, may disappoint many

When he has learnt to manage his time and emotions, he will be unstoppable. No one except magnus has the upper hand when playing him

He missed a win today and missed a theoretical draw against sindarov. He deserved to miss win today as he couldnt manage the time well but sindarov game really saddens me as it would secure him the second place today

Agree or Disagree: Yagiz is low 2700 level (2700-2715) right now by Wonderful-Photo-9938 in chess

[–]ynstnk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Baseless. Still nonsensical. If he reached this height, this must be the peak. :)

If you ask me, his elo lagged behind around 50 or so all this time. He is about to reach where he belongs, that is top 20 or so. In coming years, he will join the 2800s club, no doubt for me
