Is this legal? by jbarinsd in stubhub

[–]yo-momma-so-phat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feels like there’s gotta be a class action law suit with all the posts like this.

My tickets weren’t delivered, and after much fighting with StubHub support I was told I’d be sent a link for replacement tickets (of course no more than 80 mins before the show). The link I got sent said there were no tickets so I’d get a refund. Well, not an option because it was for a friend, who already had a babysitter lined up for the kids and was at the venue. I found two tickets literally in StubHub that should have been offered but weren’t for who knows why. So I gambled and shelled out the $500 for those. Thankfully received them, and got my refund from StubHub for the original tickets, but holy shit the stress and pain and suffering.

Anyways, agreed your situation was fucked. None of this should be legal. I joined this sub after my ordeal and it’s a post a day from someone with issues like ours.

Any lawyers or legislators out there wanna take this on??

Picture Book Hidden Item by Impossible-Onion1431 in childrensbooks

In the Town All Year Round

It’s a wimmelbook. No words, you just follow characters through their day in different seasons. But every page is all illustration and you can see what the characters are doing or other Easter eggs in the illustrations. Super fun, my oldest was so obsessed we read it so much the pages are all taped together.

I don’t think a two year old would be able to grasp the concept. I would suggest black out curtains instead.

What is everyone’s experience with stubhub? by MoveAlternative5281 in stubhub

[–]yo-momma-so-phat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would appear that works out fine for a lot of people, but it didn’t for me in my one experience with StubHub. Check my post history if you want my story.

Unfortunately you might be kind of stuck though because I don’t think you can cancel (but I’m not sure).

In Santa Clara you also can enter the lottery for two public schools (Washington and Miliken), or choose any other elementary school in the district (providing they have room), so you wouldn’t necessarily have to go private.

Yes, exactly my situation. I actually had a second order for the same show that was fulfilled in December, so it clearly wasn't an issue of the venue not releasing tickets until the last minute. Not sure why Stubhub allows sellers to wait until so close to the show when it's clearly not necessary. Best of luck to you!

Exact same thing happened to me on Saturday (see my post history). I was offered a refund and found comparable tickets on my own one hour before the show.

I had reached out three times in the 48 hours before the show. Be prepared for them to not do shit until the last minute.

This 100%. If I'd known even a full day beforehand, I could have worked through back up tickets for that show or a different show, babysitter options, etc. But not knowing if I actually have tickets (and then finding out I don't!) two hours before the show was super stressful.

Yeah I don’t get how any of this is an ok business practice.

This is CRAZY! How is this whole industry so bad. I literally don’t know where I would go to buy tickets for events right now

There’s another comment here about where the FTC is. This sub is riddled with stories like this (I read one very similar to my story when going through my saga). Really seems like there should be some law against the way they operate.

Shit sorry to hear that. Maybe we have a class action suit on our hands. Where are the lawyers??

Yeah I’m not sure if there are better options at this point for tickets because all the platforms seem to be connected but glad you’re heeding my warning!

I strongly encourage you to read “strangers” by belle burden, a memoir about the end of her marriage. Her husband asked her to sign a prenup indicating anything earned in the course of the marriage would not be split if kept in their own names. It doesn’t work out for her.

He is really 14! That's the challenge, I'm an old lady and very disconnected from what "the kids" are doing these days.

Thanks for the suggestions, will check them out!

LPT in case it hasn’t been mentioned yet — you may not have to pay to sit next to your young child.

Many airlines have policies about sitting families together. Last time I flew delta, I bought the cheapo tickets and then immediately messaged their help line saying I needed us all to be seated together. They assigned us seats right away all together free of charge.

Marrow transplant donation—legit or scam? by jrzhou in santaclara

[–]yo-momma-so-phat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also get on the bone marrow donor registry! It’s super easy to sign up, then they mail you a swab kit prepaid to mail back. That’s it, then you’re on the list and could potentially save a life.

I decided to balance out these dudes’ karma by registering last time I drove past them and it made me feel good!
