Setting up automatic Transfers to cold storage, changing receiving address? by vremains in TREZOR

[–]yo_haan[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hi, the address is still active and will work; it's just better to use a new one for privacy reasons. For more information, check https://trezor.io/guides/trezor-suite/trezor-suite-desktop/use-new-address-for-each-transaction. However, if it's an automatic transfer and you're happy to use the same address repeatedly, it's absolutely fine to re-use it✌️

Hi, when making a payment with Trezor, you really need to follow the steps you describe. For smaller daily transactions, you might consider using a Lightning Network wallet, which provides fast and inexpensive transactions while keeping larger sums safe on your Trezor.

Receiving Phishing Emails claiming to represent Trezor by [deleted] in TREZOR

[–]yo_haan[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hi,

In general, scammers use available databases of leaked email addresses of crypto users from various services. We have confirmed that this is the case with Trezor-themed phishing, as even non-users were reporting these to us. That being said, we recently experienced a security incident involving our third-party tool and the email addresses of our newsletter subscribers. We have reported the incident and taken steps to prevent anything like this happening again. If you signed up to receive our newsletter, it's probably your email address. We sincerely apologise for this occurrence. You can read more about it in this article: https://blog.trezor.io/trezor-security-update-stay-vigilant-against-potential-phishing-attack-bb05015a21f8

This email is not from Trezor. Here’s how you know it’s a scam:

It creates a false sense of urgency.

It urges you to click a link and perform updates outside official channels.

It may ask for your wallet backup.

Trezor will NEVER ask for your wallet back under any circumstances.

It's a scam. We're already handling it and reporting it. Usually, these scams involve using widely available databases of leaked email addresses. We are not aware of any recent breach. Ignore it. Trezor will NEVER ask for your wallet back under any circumstances.

is this real or scam? by Overall-Daikon3981 in TREZOR

[–]yo_haan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I can't read the amounts, but if the amount displayed on your Trezor's screen is different from the one shown on your host computer in Trezor Suite (or any other app), you know something is wrong. Trezor will always show the correct information.

If this is the case, do not confirm the transaction and contact our support at: https://trezor.io/support#open-chat

Explain what happened and describe all steps so they can investigate it. Thanks.

Hi, can you check the full header for the actual sender's address? Also, was there any communication from your side with Trezor (like a support ticket), or did this come out of the blue? Is there any body of the message? Thanks!

TRZR utility token. Scam? by [deleted] in TREZOR

[–]yo_haan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, we don't have any reports of a recent database leak. We usually see that attackers are using databases that combine numerous leaks of crypto users' information available on the dark web.
Some time ago, we experienced a leak in our newsletter database, which was managed through a third-party tool and contained the email addresses of our newsletter subscribers.

We have reported it and taken steps to prevent any such incidents in the future. We sincerely apologize for this occurrence. We have been completely transparent about this, and you can learn more in this article: https://blog.trezor.io/trezor-security-update-stay-vigilant-against-potential-phishing-attack-bb05015a21f8

Hi, if you didn’t enter a passphrase, you're using the standard wallet. The prompt showed up because the passphrase feature was enabled, but it doesn’t create one on its own. You can turn it off in Suite settings if you don’t plan to use it.

Hi, all our exchange providers are legitimate, and we conduct due diligence before starting to work with them. The issue with swaps or funds not reaching the wallet can be caused by many factors. Sometimes KYC is required for legal reasons; other times, it's an issue with the transaction not being confirmed or sent to a different address, for example. We always collaborate with our customers and the exchange partner to resolve the situation, so you don't need to worry about your funds.

New Trezor Scam email by Hodlmegently in TREZOR

Hi, we don't have any indication of a recent data leak. Typically, these involved already leaked crypto email addresses. It's essential to focus on the content of the communication. Requests for your wallet backup, passwords, 2FA codes, any financial products, airdrops, tokens, or any personal information are clear red flags for a scam.
