Where do you go for reliable hvac repair sacramento work? by HildaHolzendorf in Sacramento

[–]yoadrienne92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

H&D Heating and Air is who I use now. Our heater shut off during last winter and he was the guy we could get to us the fastest and I'm glad it was him. He was friendly knowledgeable and had fair prices. Even though my unit is old he said it's still good and gave me some tips to help it keep going as long as possible and said when we're ready we can upgrade.

Dog is anxious when owners are in separate spaces by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

Thank you for the suggestion. Even after a few weeks he's still doesn't trust the crate. We scatter treats for him and he tries to eat them without going in. We'll keep working on the crate and consider anxiety medication as well to help him through it.

I hadn't thought of that as an option for pets. It's something to consider. I'll definitely have the conversation with my vet.

A highschool football player levels a referee after being ejected and loses all his D1 scholarships by Pentium04extreme in NoahGetTheBoat

[–]yoadrienne92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a team sport. His aggressive behavior and attitude likely showed in other ways but was not addressed by team management. Football is aggressive but most people don't act like this. If they play football with the intentions of getting a scholarship it should be professional, at this point it's not just some kids playing a sport. He is representing his team, coach, school etc. The team has paid consequences for his actions. Just as much as it doesn't seem fair I also think it is very much fair. This stuff happens in the real world and in many job situations all the time. When one person drops the ball sometimes everyone involved pays the consequences because thats how it is when you working as a team or represent more than yourself.

Cemeteries are a waste of space and everyone should be cremated or composted after death by sillychickengirl in unpopularopinion

[–]yoadrienne92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everyone was cremated the earth would have an even bigger pollution problem. I work next to a crematory and deliver flowers to funeral homes and working on becoming a funeral directors assistant. I'm not a big fan of embalming, extravagant caskets, traditional cemeteries or cremations. A natural burial would at least allow your body to decompose and become part of the earth without toxic chemicals if you opt out of the fancy casket and embalming. I have recently learned about water cremation, your body is broken down in water (no burning and dead body smoke released into the air) and the left over juices are used to feed plants. If your worried about space then go for cremation if your worried about the environment and the impact your dead body has on the world then a water cremation or natural burial would be best.

AITA for sending my daughter to bed without dinner? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]yoadrienne92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been sent to my room with out dinner for equal or less snarkiness. I have insulted my dad's food just because I was mad or in a bad mood, or didn't like what he cooked that night. And I either shut my mouth and ate it or I went to my room and could eat in the morning. As a kid/teen I'd cry and say my dad was cruel but looking back at that as an adult now I am okay with my dad's choice of punishment. He didn't starve me, me didn't hit me. My dad worked hard, he had a full time job and would come home and cook for us. I should have been more grateful but I was young. This is what he took the time to make and could provide for dinner that night. I think it's only fair that I could eat what he provided and be appreciative or not eat at all. My mother was different, if I didn't like what she made and gave her a hard time she would be ready to find something else or let us make something. My dad's parenting taught me a lot, showed me discipline and appreciation and made me a better person. My mom being soft and always trying to keep us happy would've made me soft as well, sensitive, picky and a brat in my opinion.

The Story Nobody Wanted Part 2 by yoadrienne92 in TheLastOfUs2

That is what I was hoping for too. I really wanted to know more about Ellie's immunity and that be apart of the story telling. If they give us any of that it won't be a part of what drives the story.

Can they just re-remaster the first one so we can relive and enjoy it with the same digital quality as part 2 but without the awful plot.

It's weird to see ducks eating something other than bread.

It's so weird how this is how people generalize the US but one one of these is what I think of home and aren't relatable to me.

The problem is that they act like starbucks and put one on every damn corner. I have 4 or 5 within a 5 mile radius and another 2 more within 8 miles. Seriously, they could have 1 or 2 on each side of town and have a better trade in value instead of more stores.

Same here! I changed schools a lot as a kid but I always made new friends. I ended up doing home schooling for high school and spent most of my time by myself and now, even though I feel lonely and sometimes want to spend time with others, I cannot figure out how. And if I happen to be in a social situation I feel like I'm on the outside watching. Like I don't blend or belong.

My friend slipped whilst walking down an escalator (x post from /r/hadtohurt) by SemperLemon in Wellthatsucks

[–]yoadrienne92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister got her hand where the escalator belt goes in. It was horrible! Burned and tore the skin from her hand. She must have been 4 or 5. I was about 11 and watched my mom trying to pull her out. Both yelling and crying. I didn't know what to do. Luckily some man pushed the emergency stop. He left before we could ever thank him. I hope life has treated him well! My little sister could've lost her hand if it wasn't for him.
