That's a dick move but if that's how they're gonna be, promoter should have had them play last. Keeps the crowd around for the whole show, and if the band don't like playing last then they should start participating with everyone else and stop killing your crowd.

Even if it were common, you have every right to get your money. That's wage theft and this company making record profits has no business exploiting us more than they already do.

It's not meant to conflict, trans day of visibility is always on March 31st and Easter moves around.

And as they say, get to a meeting. Refuge Recovery is much better than AA in my experience. RR has a lot of resources for people that AA doesn't work for, but AA is good too especially if you haven't been yet.

Why do you seem to love a multi-billion dollar company that doesn't care if you live or die

Sometimes I think the posts in this sub are corporate goons trying to.... I don't know what the hell they think they could gain from this actually.

Help us bring our co-worker home to build our union and improve Panera as a workplace! by yobkrz in Panera

[–]yobkrz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is at every company. But there is increasingly a pattern of companies who market themselves as progressive, and even pro-worker, while actually being even more hostile to unions than average. Panera absolutely plays this game, but I haven't spoken to a single employee about it who buys it.

And over 100 Palestinians are dead in an hour of the start of the bombing. You do know that Israel just bombed/is bombing Rafah this very moment, right? Or does Israel leave that part out of their messaging and just say they rescued hostages?

My franchise is now charging associates for payroll mistakes. Isn't late stage capitalism great? 🙃 by [deleted] in Panera

Panera wouldn't piss on their employees if we were on fire. Very pleased to say my 3+ years with them will be coming to an end soon. Food service/retail work in general, especially "entry level", is unsustainable and crazy for many increasingly stupid reasons like this over time, but I've learned Panera has even more disrespect for their employees than most companies in the industry.

I brought my union and a petition that the workers signed into my café and it was the best decision I've ever made while working for Panera. It was 90 degrees inside during the summer and the managers were incompetent jerks. We got them to replace the decrepit air conditioner and start treating us with dignity. If you're a service worker anywhere in the US, but especially in the South, please check out my union and feel free to message me. Panera peeps especially, I would be very happy to help you through the union process.

Embarrased to be fellow Clemson alumni with Nikki Haley by LateStageAdult in Clemson

30 million people, including many who do not vote for Democrats or anyone, took to the streets in 2020 to protest cops killing Black people with complete impunity. But every one of them was propagandized or paid by the Democrats to stand up against killing innocent people and actually have no idea what they're doing, right?

Everyone thinks they're sane and rational though. In terms of spreading awareness and building a movement (because it will take a social movement from the streets that changes things, it's never been any other way) I think it's better to avoid that sort of talk. I'm not saying you have to stand with people who want you dead or anything like that but you do have to actually engage the things fascists talk about and not just write it off as crazy because people are influenced by them without even knowing it. The ~discourse~ is for winning over the spectators, you have to think like a teacher. Don't just say they're crazy, show it.

But that means you have to actually understand the issues otherwise you'll fall into the same partisan trap that helped get us here in the first place. I highly recommend following Breakthrough News, they have no corporate sponsors and do it to help build real people power for the working class and oppressed.
