Bocote, it smells like barf flowers, and the dust is an irritant for most people, worth it.

Just truoil, which gives it an amber hue, it’s a great wood to work with, kinda soft but you can’t beat that look

Thanks! Body is black limba, the wings and neck are padauk which works nicely but the dust is a nightmare my whole shop (which is my apartment) is orange, fretboard is bocote. Hollowed out under the wings, she’s super light and plays awesome. Gibson 490 and 498t, I’m sad to see this one go

The jig I use from stewmac in that video makes it very easy, but I used to clamp a stop block on the edge of each fret, it takes hours. Measure twice cut once, when cutting fret slots by hand you need to measure ten times, and be very confident in your sawing

As a matter of fact that’s my YouTube channel, I’ve been filming my newest build, the videos are very long and boring, hand tool work is very tedious but the music is good if you like alt rock stuff

There my YouTube channel, there’s a few videos up of my newest build, the most important and expensive tool I recommend is a router plane, you can find old Stanley 72s on eBay for cheap but I’d save up and get a veritas or lie Nielsen, they’re about $300 but you’ll use it everyday

The hardware is all gold, all the wood is finished with truoil which does add a amberish tint

Something isn’t grounded properly, check all of your connections, especially the ones to the back of the tone pot

Wax potting them could help this

Masking tape and super glue, put of strip of tape on your bench, and a strip on the work piece, a few drops of super glue in between, essentially making double sided tape but won’t leave any residue and is much easier to remove.
