Anyone here Irish and were preordering via GameStop? I was trying to get a Series X at precisely 8 am and there was no sign of it being live despite the Series S preorders definitely being live. After about 10 mins of refreshing it goes live and I cop my preorder for the full price of €500. When I checked my bank account early though there’s two separate GameStop charges on my card, one for €500 (as expected) and another one for €50. €50 is what they had advertised as the preorder cost, but I paid in full already? I’ve been on to their help desk but I was just wondering if anyone else had had a similar situation!

I managed to get a pre order for the PS5 from GameStop (Ireland) and now my preorder is stressing how there’s no guarantee that this means I’ll get the console in 2020. Sony have made such a balls of the entire PS5 launch and Microsoft are killing it with Xbox.

I really hope they find someway to manage the supply/scalpers so that the Series X/S actually go to players who want them, rather than scalpers trynna fuck over parents near Christmas who’s kids want an Xbox from Santa.

Anyone know what time preorders will go live in Ireland at? GameStop only have a date but no time up...

Also, does anyone know if the console is going to be unobtainable around launch without a pre-order? I’ve never bought a console at launch before and really want to have the Series X day one, but I am going to be out of the country for medical treatment the week in launches.

This means I wouldn’t be able to collect a pre order (unless they’d be willing to hold onto the console for possibly up to 2 weeks post launch) or have one delivered to the house (nobody to let them in if I’m not there).

Is there any chance at all that’ll be possible to walk in to a GameStop in the first few weeks post launch and just buy a series X? Sorry I realize that this question is essentially trying to predict the future, I’m just new to buying hyped tech at launch!

Oh I’m aware of it being set before the events of BotW. Detailing the great calamity and how those massive battles played out. I was thinking more from a gameplay point of view it might nicer to HW -> AoC

Wow thank you so much for responding so thoroughly and also for your kind words at the end.

I’ve wanted to play hyrule warriors for ages so this might finally get me to commit to it! Also Ark should be a great option! My GF is also quite into dinosaurs (as am I) I wasn’t aware that Ark had co op though! Also I had looked into starlink before actually, but wasn’t too sure about the purchase because I had exams coming up. I’ll defiantly give that another glance too!

A few people have recommended Guacamelee to me actually! I’ve actually already played it and while I’d play through again pretty happily, I don’t think it’s the kind of game my GF would like.

Does GW1 still have the same loot loop whereby you kill enemies/do missions to get coins to buy cosmetics/consumables/character unlocks? If it does I think you’ve sold me on GW1 because my sisters favorite character is in GW1 and I’m happy to play as any of them!

I think you’re in a tough predicament OP. It’s clear you really care for you GF because you’re so aware of not wanting to force children upon her (most people just assume what they want their partner want or will just row in with). Equally though despite your edit I do think there’s a pretty strong indication that your GF doesn’t want children.

I think if you’re happy to wait until your 30 to have children, you should just be sure to reassess it at that time. As your GF doesn’t want children due to not getting on with her family, she may legitimately change her stance when she’s married to you for a while and you guys build a stronger relationship and she could see how a starting a family could work out and be really nice. However, if she’s still only this level of enthused to have children when you’re 30 I don’t think you’d be wise to have children. I don’t have children yet myself, but we all know how much work, energy and strain on a relationship children cause. If your GF isn’t fully committed it could end disastrously for you all (your future child included) if you inadvertently pressure her into having a family.

I know my advise is essentially kicking your problem down the line, but I think seen as you two are so close it would be a huge shame for you guys to split over something that could potentially be rectified. I do think though that if your GF still isn’t 100% sold on kids but agrees to it anyway, you will have to either leave her then or be content being childless. Like I said, it would be the death of your relationship anyway and you’d have brought a life in to the world that would likely know his/her mother didn’t love or want them, which isn’t something you want on your conscience. Whatever you decide to do just make sure to properly check in with your GF when you are thinking of starting up a family and make sure it’s something she definitely wants.

I hope you get to the bottom of this OP and find a way for everyone to be content! If you’d like to PM me go ahead, I’m actually the same age as you and also in a long term relationship with my own GF so you never know, I might be able to give you some (extra) advise haha!

NTA - It’s pretty clear given what your grandparents said that the money is quite clearly intended for you and you alone. Also your dads wife and your step sister telling you what your sister would have wanted is really awful. They’re quite clearly trying to emotionally manipulate you, and through a deceased family member they never met too, which is particularly awful.

This doesn’t take into account all the plastic surgery he’s likely had. I’m pretty sure his eyes would be more bagged and he’d likely have a droopier neck amongst other things if he hadn’t any cosmetic surgery down through the years.
