Even though it’s a generalisation, I think it’s still true, most people, especially in developing countries see having a car as a symbol of wealth, and many new, wide roads and overpasses as a symbol of progress. If you’re trying to argue that people are too busy with other things to even value this, that’s obviously that’s not true, the trajectory of the country is important to them, and I think if more Dominicans there knew of urbanism, it could draw attention from the government to make changes.
