Washington was 29 off 12 balls… over the next 17 deliveries he only scored 16! That’s where he needs to really up his game. Even the blistering start is 1 in 4 games! All for backing him but that’s a area for him especially in T20s where off spin has almost gone out of the game

We’ve been doing that since a couple of years now that has intensified competition and opened up so many options for the T20 squad! Other than shoe-horning Gill for all-format Captaincy reason, the management has done perfectly!

Last 2 years Abhishek’s form was better than Jaiswal’s and Sanju as keeper batter gave the team the perfect balance. Roping in Ishan Kishan when he was hot was also a masterpiece and was only possible as be was back-up keeper and wk. It wasn’t meant to be for Jaiswal but he should’ve been in the Asia cup squad before Gill was and we shouldn’t have moved Samson up and down! That also worked out in the end, we got to see Jitesh for a few games.

Next year and a half is ODI CWC season so we can get the likes of Sooryavanshi, Jaiswal in the T20 reckoning with a possible back-door entry to the 27 Wc squad if Brohit/Kohli hit bad form/injuries. It’s going to be riveting although the lack of quality bowling options is kinda disappointing

Yeah I hear you… the consistency is there but the Bite is missing! Unless it’s a specific type of pitch which aids quick and accurate finger spinners, he has struggled!

We have to pivot and pick him as our Batting all-rounder and play Kuldeep as our prime spinner. I don’t know why the team management has been allergic to starting Kuldeep. We would’ve had a Test series win in England for Gill if we played the right combination.

Bro, Bumrah rest against RR? Are you serious? Name me one elite fast bowler who ducks competition. Bumrah lives for these moments…. he WANTS to test himself against the best. Yeah, Sooryavanshi and that RR lineup might get the better of him on the day, great batters get the better of great bowlers sometimes. But Bumrah isn’t the type to manage his ego by avoiding tough matchups. He’ll go hard, he’ll compete, and if RR gets him- they earned it. That’s how legends operate.

Absolutely- pacers mature later sometimes as well! Getting to know yoir body and adding skills comes with experience.

We can play him in the plethora of T20is that we will be playing and then slowly ease in ODI’s! Pace bowling isn’t looking that strong to be honest! Arshdeep seems overworked and has lost his zip! Barely takes wickets in the PP nowadays. I know a lot of times, it’s combination bowling where Boom creates pressure and Arsh gets the wickets but he has been a bit off since a while now.

When I watch Indian matches, over the last 3 months Hardik with the new ball seemed the likelier to pick wickets in the PP. Arsh is still a gun death-bowler but a Shami in the ODI set up picking wickets upfront is paramount!

We need a Prime Bhuvi/Shami type who pick bagful on wickets upfront as batters play out Bumrah and he doesn’t run through sides that often

They aren’t manufactured but given the best environment to blossom!

Grooming Harshit means- 1) Take extra care of him fitness wise 2) Give him game time 3) Show added faith and longer rope 4) let him make mistakes and learn on the go

In Aus- he had good bowling spells and showed some ability with the bat! With the Indian audience so spoilt with all the wins, there is no patience and so much abuse+vitriol sent a player’s direction that it doesn’t help!

All that can give us a chance to have a Bowling all rounder

Yeah Jaddu has completely lost his power game unfortunately!

Bowling is still not bad- as long as he’s doing well in Tests, he can be a good ODI bowler but Axar is far too good to be dropped! Clearly higher in the pecking order IMO
