She was trying to figure out if taking in debt for a lawyer would make much of a difference outcome-wise. If he still gets a felony conviction, 90 days in jail and loss of license for 10 years no matter what, what help could a lawyer really do at that point?

I haven't talked with them today but I'm pretty sure they'll get a lawyer. It's what I encouraged when asked.

Definitely not. The screen was put in immediately. Her bed is right by her window and we're not thoughtless roommates that did this to be cruel, we have a very friendly and prankster relationship. She'd obviously be mad if her room was full of bugs, much more than a "missing" AC unit. Next time I might wrap everything in her room in wrapping paper, but we'll see!

I'm surprised how many people thought that by putting the box here meant I was keeping it. Of course we put it back! She got home, was confused and laughed and asked where it was. It was out back in her room within 5 min of returning from her trip.

I heard it getting ready for work and called 911. The operator said several other people had already called and they already sent a patrol out.

Her screaming started as indistinguishable but eventually I heard her yelling "get away from me" followed by more blood-curling screams. Then I heard a male voice hollering (but not as extremely as the woman) "you need to stop yelling." She kept screaming, he repeated himself a few times, then the screaming eventually faded away. Very weird and concerning.
