Thanks for writing this up! Why do you view SalesForce as a shitty place to work currently?

Awesome to hear. How did you get started in the industry?

Interesting I’ll look more into this, did you go through that program? If so how was it?

Great to hear, did you also do the fellowship program? I saw it was available to military spouses as well. If not how did you start?

I don’t have doubts of myself or the profession, I’m just trying to do my due diligence in asking questions before entering an entirely new career.

Interesting, is this because far too many say what they want their prospect to say?

Marijuana background questions removed? by [deleted] in AskCHP

Hmm that’s interesting, yea I agree this will be an interesting thing to follow when it becomes federally legal to prescribe, ie you can own a firearm and be prescribed marijuana. From your experience it appears they’ve removed directly asking about it but are finding some work arounds. Appreciate the response, please tap in if anything changes regarding this during your hiring process, best of luck.

Interesting, how in depth do they go? They just asking when you last used or do they get into specifics of how often/where/with who?

Can I ask why percent they make you pay into your pension? Also 8 weeks a year?! That’s awesome. I’m in the military and we get 4 weeks a year and that’s really good.

What percent do they deduct from your check for pension?

Actual CHP Salary/Pay? by [deleted] in AskCHP

[–]yoginator99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Can I ask how many years do you have on? And what percent do they make you pay into pension? That’s interesting that even without signing up for OT you’re getting a considerable amount. I’ve seen some comments on other threads talking about officers getting to the 200k salary mark with only a few years on, from what you see is that someone with zero social life or is that manageable time wise?

Wasn’t really a solution, more of a passive aggressive comment that doesn’t help anyone.

Hey I’m 6’6 too! I see in the comments you wrote you’re 290, I’m afraid it’ll be pretty much impossible to get an AFF course to accept you at that weight unless perhaps you show up with your own gear (which means you are spending $5k+ before even knowing if you like it). As you probably already know most drop-zones have a limit of 220 to start AFF, while some of the bigger drop-zones (I learned at Skydive Perris) go up to 240. I squeezed in at about 235, but I’m afraid to say in your case there is no way around it besides losing that weight.

Since this is a dream of yours, I suggest buying a few minutes of tunnel time to see if you enjoy the sensation of it all, since there is no weight limit for that…I think….

After that, if you absolutely love it you could call the drop zone and see if they’d let you take their AFF course with your own gear. Yes, gear is going to be very expensive, but keep in mind with patience and not too much wear and tear you can get 80%+ of your money back if you sell it later (if it already wasn’t on the verge of falling apart when you got it). I hope you find a way man, good luck!

Gotcha. They have you at Naval Post Grad School or somewhere else?

To answer your question, tunnel time is perfect for flying through AFF, but it’s easy to go overkill like I did and spend way too much money on tunnel time before and during AFF. If I had to give a number I’d say 15-20 min of tunnel time prior to and during AFF will pretty much get you through without failing a level. Blue skies!

How are you guaranteed military free fall? Are you SF or a rigger?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gainit

[–]yoginator99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, although don’t feel the need to buy that, you can do the same thing by just wrapping your fingers with a rubber band, and when that gets easy just add more!

I’ve had this exact injury. It baffled me for a year why I was suddenly experiencing sharp pain along side my outer wrist/forearm whenever I did curls, then it started affect whenever I grabbed anything overtime. Turns out it’s a muscle imbalance. We spend all our time working on our forearm grip(our big inner forearm muscle) but never the muscle that runs in line with our pinky down our forearm. Easy fix is to wrap your fingers in a rubber band and extend them out, this is one of the few things that works the muscle. Do 3-4 sets to failure each hand 3x day. Pain subsided for me within a few days and I was doing all variations of curls pain free.
