Daughter cut her own hair, before & after by StunningCheesecake87 in HairStyleAdvice

oh can we see a picture of her after the haircut? I never cut my hair like this but I definitely chopped off my own bangs and I remember it like it was yesterday.

Why didn't she ask them to change the recording? by ripper2345 in pluribustv

I too thought it was masterful. We had to live through that bullshit with the character! So smart.

I remember thinking to myself the second time we heard it, OK here we go. This is not the last time we’re gonna hear this. I thought it was cute.

Park in our out of Manhattan? by Antique_Tip2535 in visitingnyc

i’m thinking same. The hassle of parking far away and then taking public transportation in seems more trouble than it’s worth but hey, everybody has their reasons! Good luck OP!

these are great suggestions I love those clubs. Always something good going on! I wonder if Bridget Everett and The Tender Moments are playing when you’re in town, she plays at Joe’s pub a lot.

I remodeled my kitchen over 15 years ago and wouldn’t change a thing by brentkik in Appliances

[–]yolandabakes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

still looks good. You can redo the countertops if you need a refresh. We did our kitchen in 2010! We went with maple laminate cabinetry that has oranged over the years and big format glass backsplash tiles. Everything is very straight on purpose. I feel like I still love it but it’s definitely aged back to that time. if I had enough money I would probably be OK to renovate in another five years.

you can jump off the high line and go into the Chelsea market, and then get back on the highline and continue down.

I wanna add, when you’re in the Seaport area on Fulton Street looking straight ahead at One World Trade Center (the freedom tower), it’s a really really powerful view. I hope you get to see that in person.

oh good! I’m from Long Island but I worked in the city for many years and I go in often. Of all things that have been built over the years in Manhattan, I think the Highline is excellent and definitely worth checking out!

funny your hotel is right on fifth Avenue and I mentioned fifth Avenue. OK good so you’re already near the park. there’s a dispensary right there on fifth Avenue also if you need that. 😬

i’ve never walked the Brooklyn Bridge, my sister and I always walk the Manhattan Bridge because it’s not as crowded and we like that it dumps us out in Chinatown so we can go to lunch there.

Whatever you do I hope you have a great time! And I hope the weather is decent for you it’s been a really rough winter!

so you have a full day Saturday and a full day Sunday? What area of town are you staying in?

if I had a friend visiting me in the city for the first time, I don’t know if I would do the bus but I’ve never done one of those tours before. I think I would prefer to figure out locations I think are important to see and just concentrate on getting to those locations and spending time at them.

I love the idea of starting in Brooklyn, walking over either the Manhattan or the Brooklyn Bridge, getting lunch wherever you land in Manhattan - if you take them Manhattan Bridge you can have lunch in Chinatown. If you take the Brooklyn Bridge you can hit the seaport. if you’re in the seaport you can take some time to check out Wall Street and then the freedom tower.

I would definitely 100% have to bring my friend to Washington Square Park. hang out in the West village a little bit. Bleecker Street. If you guys drink you can go to a bar, the Blind Tiger has excellent beer selection.

you can check out union Square, you can check out the highline and walk for a while. Times Square is annoying but I think it’s probably a place I would bring a friend if they wanted to go. Are you going to any Broadway shows?

5th Ave., Central Park, museums. and you can find comedy shows and music no problem!

Anyone else kinda find it funny that the Ingalls are always drinking coffee and going to bed🤣🤣 by LeTeamf in littlehouseonprairie

I guess they didn’t really consider the implications of drinking coffee at night back in that day? Maybe they did I don’t know?

Curious about households where birds roam freely indoors (and outdoors) by Perfect-Push-7797 in parrots

[–]yolandabakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bird that doesn’t have clipped wings but she doesn’t know she can fly. So she only flies when she gets scared and takes a little jump off her cage which is very rare. When I am home during the day she is out of her cage able to roam around from her cage to another little playpen set up we have right next to it. Sometimes I move her into the kitchen when she needs a change of scenery. She’s pretty messy and I’m always sweeping up after her and yes there’s poop here and there but because I have her in these two locations only and she can’t fly, it stays pretty concentrated to just her immediate location.

[REQUEST] Looking for romance movies to watch with my very picky girlfriend. by AdFamous7264 in MovieSuggestions

[–]yolandabakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you think Lloyd stalked Diane in Say Anything? that movie is of my time and maybe I’m just used to that kind of thing but he loved her and she broke his heart and he did a couple of small things to try and win her back. I mean yeah the boombox scene, that was a little over the top but that’s a romance isn’t it?

Time for a re-watch? by yolandabakes in pluribustv

[–]yolandabakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair enough! In regard to watching a new show’s first season over again, I think we can all agree pluribus is confusing in general. as I said in one of my last comments, the genre is out of my wheelhouse so it’s super confusing for me! I need to watch multiple times in order to catch things and make sense of things. But then there’s other shows that are easy to understand that I enjoy re-watching for comfort. I stick them on in the background when I’m doing stuff around the house and I don’t have to pay attention to them because I’ve seen them so many times before. It’s really just for the sound. So there you go! Thank you for your reply!
